Angie Katsanevas’ relationship with her husband, Shawn Trujillo, is still as strong as ever. The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City snowflake holder and her hairstylist husband are the proud parents to their teenage daughter, Elektra, and recently even celebrated a major anniversary in their super sweet marriage.

Angie took to Instagram on June 13, where she revealed that she and Shawn just celebrated their 26th year of marriage. The mom of one posted several adorable photos of her and her husband, including an image from their 1999 wedding, several throwback photos, and a more recent picture of them today.
“Seems like yesterday I booked an appointment for a blow dry with this dreamy guy I saw on the cover of a romance novel in the grocery store checkout,” she joked in the caption of the post. “Long hair like Fabio, big muscles, and known to be lethal with scissors. The rest is HAIRstory.”

As Angie mentioned in the anniversary post, she first met Shawn at a hair salon.
“I see this hot guy with muscles blow drying hair, and I thought ‘I’ve got to get to know this guy,'” she explained during RHOSLC Season 4, Episode 2. “30 years later, here we are.”

Shawn temporarily got a new wife during the upcoming season of Wife Swap: The Real Housewives Edition (premiering Oct. 21). Angie appeared on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen on Sept. 16, where she teased what’s to come from the show.
“It was an incredible, life-changing experience,” Angie told host Andy Cohen. “I bonded with the children, I bonded with the family, it was amazing. I don’t know what else to say.”

Andy noted that Shawn, who served as the bartender for the episode of WWHL, got a “new wife” during the experiment. But Angie wasn’t fazed by this.Â
“Let’s see if he keeps her, if he keeps me,” she joked.

Together, Angie and Shawn are the owners of Lunatic Fringe, a chain of 10 salons located in Utah, Idaho, and Ohio. After opening their first salon together in 1999, they have since majorly expanded their vision.
But, a shocking discovery in RHOSLC Season 6 threatens Angie’s business, as she figures out that her beauty license has been expired, according to an announcement for the season.
Angie Katsanevas and Shawn Trujillo address rumors surrounding their marriage
During RHOSLC Season 4, Angie’s first as a cast member on the show, rumors were spread among the cast about Shawn having an affair and being interested in men. Shawn appeared on WWHL in October 2023, where he addressed the rumors directly.
“For me it’s not a gay-straight thing, it’s an infidelity thing for me,” he said. “We love our gay community, we’ve been embedded in it for 30 years now just based on what we do for our business.”
During the RHOSLC Season 4 reunion, Angie further admitted that hearing the rumors on TV was hard. “Thirty years ago, when Shawn and I first met, people would say, ‘Oh, that guy’s hot’ or ‘He has nice legs’ while he was doing hair,” she explained. “‘Is he gay?’ ‘No, that’s his wife over there.’ Once it was established that we were a couple in Salt Lake City, it wasn’t brought up.”

Angie and Shawn have continued to support each other and their daughter. Elektra is an avid equestrian, which her parents take very seriously. Over the summer, the couple even took her to the Belmont Stakes horse race in New York. Angie took to Instagram on June 18, where she posted a series of photos of the 14-year-old posing with several horses and jockeys.

“Bet it all on Belmont,” Angie wrote in the caption of the post. “A dream come true for Elektra meeting all the GOATS in the horse racing world.”
Angie Katsanevas reveals how daughter Elektra is now working her “dream” job
Both Angie and Shawn have continued to support Elektra’s interest in horses. The mom of one spoke with The Daily Dish in September, where she revealed that Elektra’s horse, Glitter, is injured, resulting her taking on a new equestrian role.
“You have to be very patient and allow them to heal, so right now she’s gonna be training somewhat we call green ponies,” Angie admitted. “So she’ll be working with ponies and training them for shows, which is her dream. She loves to do that. So while her horse is recovering, she has a new project, and that’s training green ponies, which she’s thrilled about.”
