Nathan Gallagher and Gael Cameron are officially celebrating their anniversary! After first meeting on Below Deck Mediterranean Season 9, the couple has since traveled the world together, welcomed their first child in June, and are continuing to profess their love to one another.
Gael took to Instagram on Sept. 25, where she posted a series of photos of her and Nathan, taken throughout their relationship so far. In the snapshots, the couple can be seen looking lovingly into each other’s eyes, kissing one another in so many places, posing with Gael’s pregnancy bump, and taking their son, Kayden Cameron-Gallagher, along on their travels.
“Through every high and low, we’ve stood side by side and I wouldn’t want to walk this path with anyone else,” Gael wrote in the caption of the post. “Life isn’t always easy, but together we turn it into the most wild, fun, and beautiful adventure. Now, with the best part of both of us in our arms, the journey feels even more magical. Happy anniversary my love — here’s to all the memories we’ve made and countless more to come.”
Nathan took to the comments where he made his own professions of love to his girlfriend. “You’re the sweetest, I love you so much!” he wrote. “Can’t wait to do life’s journey with you and our little best friend.”

Gael and Nathan first met one another during Below Deck Med Season 9, Episode 1, as they were both deckhands aboard Mustique. The Australia native and Ireland native hit it off very quickly and even tried to secretly meet during Below Deck Med Season 9, Episode 2 after a night out.
“We got on like a house on fire straight away,” Gael said of her first impression of Nathan during a June 2024 appearance on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen.Â

“It was insane and it was straight away,” Nathan told The Daily Dish of his connection with Gael in July 2024. “Like what you see from the show, me and Gael’s connection was like that from the moment we met each other.”
But, there was just one problem — Gael had a boyfriend at the time.Â
What happened with Gael Cameron and Nathan Gallagher on Below Deck Med Season 9?
Although Gael was in a relationship, she continued to flirt with Nathan and they even shared a kiss at one point. However, Gael finally broke up with her boyfriend during Below Deck Med Season 9, Episode 9. This allowed her to shift her attention to Nathan.
Gael and Nathan went on their first official date during Below Deck Med Season 9, Episode 12, when they went rock climbing together. Although Gael was “internally” freaking out about their relationship moving too fast, she ultimately decided to go for it.
“Right now I’m like, ‘Yeah, f—k it. Screw it. I’m gonna do stuff that makes me happy. It’s nice and I like him,'” she said during a confessional in the episode.
Gael and Nathan ended up leaving Mustique hand-in-hand together during the Below Deck Med Season 9 finale. But, their relationship didn’t last for long as they admitted on the Below Deck After Show, which aired on Sept. 23, 2024, that they broke up after dating on land and traveling together for six weeks.

Gael admitted during the Below Deck After Show that she started to “see a different side” to Nathan when they were dating, noting that she saw “a little bit of anger,” “stubbornness,” and “immaturity.”
“I think he just has a lot of emotional maturing to do,” she said.Â
Nathan admitted on the After Show that the long distance between them in Australia and Ireland didn’t help, either. “I just started second guessing everything,” he recalled.

In spite of breaking up, and trying to make it work, Nathan admitted that they continued to keep in contact with each other. “We still stay in touch and it’s nice to see what she’s doing and how she is,” he said during the After Show.Â
When did Gael Cameron and Nathan Gallagher get back together?
On Sept. 25, 2024, two days after the breakup episode of Below Deck Med After Show aired, Gael and Nathan confirmed that they were back together. Gael took to Instagram where she posted a photo of Nathan holding her hand in the middle of a pool. “Finders keepers,” she wrote in the caption of the post.
Nathan also took to Instagram that same day, where he posted a photo of him kissing Gael. “[Rekindled],” he wrote in the caption of the post.

After getting back together, Gael and Nathan began documenting their lives together on social media. The couple documented them traveling to Majorca in September 2024, and going to Europe in October. They even tried out “domestic life” together in Ireland, cooking each other food in Nathan’s home country in October and attending a wedding together.
After temporarily saying goodbye to one another, the couple maintained their long distance relationship, with Nathan finding ways for Gael to feel special in Australia. The couple celebrated Valentine’s Day together in February 2025, with Nathan calling Gael his “forever Valentine.”
In April, Gael and Nathan exclusively revealed to The Daily Dish that they were expecting their first child together. “We’re beyond excited to share our adventures with our tiny travel buddy,” they said, before revealing that they were expecting a baby boy.

Gael gave birth to Kayden on June 24, confirming his arrival to her Instagram Story that same day. “Welcome to the world, my love,” she wrote in the caption of the post.
The couple took the summer to enjoy soaking up all of the moments with their newborn. Gael took to her Instagram Story on July 24, where she posted a photo of Kayden and celebrated him turning a month old. “How has it already been one month?” she wrote over her Story. “I wish I could stay in this bubble with you forever, baby boy.”
Kayden has been loving the sunshine and traveling just as much as his parents. In July, the couple snapped photos of them going for a walk with their son, before taking him on his first flight in August.

Nathan and Gael’s relationship leading up to Gael getting pregnant will be documented on Below Deck Med Season 10. In this upcoming season, Nathan has returned as bosun, but Gael did not return. And having some distance between them might have caused some rifts.
In the Below Deck Med Season 10 trailer, Nathan can be seen reflecting on the charter season being “one of the toughest times” in his entire life, as it showed him kissing multiple women, before being reunited with Gael. At one point she can be seen confronting him.
“You hurt me so much,” she told him during a very emotional exchange. “And not only did you hurt me the first time, you hurt me again and again.”
Nathan can then be seen confessing that “empty hookups are not fulfilling,” ultimately leading to their reconciliation.
“In the end, it turned into the best, because of this,” Nathan said in the trailer, before the camera panned over to Gael’s pregnancy bump.
