An extensive and curious question is swirling around the Internet as Police reach Khan’s residence with an arrest warrant- Is Imran Khan In Jail?

According to recent reports, officials from the Islamabad Police traveled to the former Prime Minister’s residence in Lahore.

The officers arrived at Khan’s door to investigate allegations of illegal purchasing and selling gifts from foreign dignitaries.

The police officers attempted to arrest former Prime Minister Imran Khan, but he was not home.

The police accused Khan of evading arrest and issued a non-bailable warrant for his arrest on Tuesday for failing to attend hearings related to the case.

Khan has denied any wrongdoing concerning the alleged illegal purchase and sale of gifts.

Fact Check: Is Imran Khan In Jail? 

No, Imran Khan is not in jail. Nevertheless, over the weekend, police officers who had journeyed from Islamabad were spotted outside Khan’s residence in Lahore.

According to Islamabad Police Inspector General Akbar Nasir Khan, the squad was dispatched to Lahore to apprehend Khan, not just to deliver the warrant.

Nasir emphasized that under the law, the initial stage of executing a non-bailable arrest warrant involves notifying the accused and making an immediate arrest.

The ex-prime minister was not found in his Zaman Park residence when police officers arrived.

As aforementioned, authorities from the Islamabad Police visited the former Prime Minister of Pakistan’s Lahore home.

They were there to investigate the purported unlawful acquisition and trade of presents given by foreign officials during Imran Khan’s tenure.

In response, Khan’s supporters and fellow members of his Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) party were amassed in large numbers to demonstrate against the detention of their party leader.

Meanwhile, outside Khan’s residence, former information minister and PTI party leader Fawad Chaudhry spoke to reporters.

Chaudhry claimed that while the police alleged that Khan was evading arrest, their pursuit of detaining him was illegal.

He suggested that the authorities wanted Khan to appear in court, where security is inadequate, and his life would be endangered.

Imran Khan: Political And Cricket Career

Imran Ahmed Khan, commonly known as Imran Khan, is a Pakistani politician, former cricketer, and current Prime Minister of Pakistan.

Imran Khan is known for his exceptional cricket career. He played for the Pakistan national cricket team from 1971 to 1992 and served as its captain from 1982 to 1992.

Khan led the team to victory in the 1992 Cricket World Cup, which is still considered a significant achievement in the history of Pakistani cricket.

After his cricket career, Imran Khan entered politics and founded the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party in 1996.

He initially struggled to gain a foothold in Pakistani politics but gradually built a strong following.

Imran was popular among young people, advocating for anti-corruption measures and promising to improve Pakistan’s economy and governance.

In the August 2018 Pakistani general elections, Khan’s PTI party won the most seats in the National Assembly, and he was sworn in as the Prime Minister of Pakistan.

As Prime Minister, he implemented his party’s vision for reform and development in Pakistan, including initiatives to improve education, healthcare, and social welfare.

However, in April 2022, Khan was ousted from his position due to a parliamentary vote of no confidence.

He is currently confronted with numerous legal cases, which include allegations of wrongdoing ranging from “terrorism” to corruption.
