Jax Taylor is sharing a new look at his life today as a dad to his son, Cruz Cauchi. The Valley alum has been busy spending time with his friends, focusing on his new chapter in life, and co-parenting his kid with ex-wife, Brittany Cartwright, and is opening up about his life as a dad today.

Jax took to his Instagram account on Thursday, April 2, where he shared an update on Cruz, who was diagnosed with autism in the fall of 2024. The dad of one posted three different photos of the little boy as he sat on his shoulders, ate a peanut butter and jelly sandwich on a couch, and hugged him closely.
“Today is World Autism Awareness Day,” the Vanderpump Rules alum wrote in the caption of the post. “My son has changed the way I see the world…with more patience, more understanding and a deeper love than I ever knew I had in me. He reminds me every day what really matters. Proud to be his dad today and every day.”
The update comes just as Cruz is days away from celebrating his 5th birthday.
Tom Schwartz reveals Jax Taylor has been keeping a “low profile”
The Valley Season 3 cast member, Tom Schwartz, appeared on his podcast, Detox Retox with Tom Schwartz, on Feb. 25, where he revealed that Jax has been living a much more private life recently. “I don’t want to speak for him, because I think he’s been keeping a low profile,” he said during a Feb. 25 episode. “But I’ll say based on what I’ve seen, he’s doing really well.”
“He’s very, he’s dialed in on his sobriety,” he continued. “And yeah, man, he’s put a lot of work into himself. But I don’t want to say too much because he’s purposefully been keeping a low profile.”
Tom Sandoval reveals how often he talks to Jax Taylor
Tom Sandoval appeared on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen on March 3, where he confirmed that he still talks to Jax. “I talk to Jax,” he said. “I talked to Jax last night.”
The Tom Sandoval and the Most Extras frontman had previously spoken with The Daily Dish at BravoCon 2025, where he reiterated his connection to his longtime BFF. “Yeah, I just talked to Jax the other day,” he admitted.
Kristen Doute shares where she stands with Jax Taylor today
The Valley cast member, Kristen Doute, has seen Jax recently. The new mom appeared on WWHL on April 1, where she opened up about her run in with him.”I’ve seen him a few times,” she explained. “Sometimes he acknowledges me, sometimes he doesn’t.”

Brittany Cartwright opens up about her co-parenting journey with Jax Taylor
Brittany has been so open about her co-parenting journey with Jax. The mom of one spoke with Us Weekly on March 30, where she admitted that things are currently a work in progress. “We’re working on the co-parenting situation. We’re trying to make it better,” she said. “It’s not easy.”
“There’s just so many different things that go into it where it’s not the best, but it is better than it was two years ago. That’s a plus,” she added.

Brittany had previously taken to her podcast on Nov. 8, where she admitted that co-parenting with Jax is “going.” “But you know, I’m very much a full time mom and I love it. And I appreciate that. I love everything.”
“You know, I think Jax is trying to work on himself,” she noted. “So I hope that, you know, we can continue to work on our co-parenting relationship and just get better and stronger all the time. And hopefully, one day, it will be a very successful co-parenting relationship, because that’s what really matters. Cruz is always going to come first.”

Jax Taylor reveals he has moved into a new home
In addition to spending time with his son and his friends, Jax has also been on the move. He took to his Instagram on Feb. 17 where he posted a Reel documenting his moving process from his townhouse. Although he didn’t disclose where he was moving to, he captured all of the details surrounding the moving process, including saying goodbye to his next door neighbor, Tom Schwartz.
“New chapter,” he wrote in the caption of the post. “Here’s to new beginnings.”
He also took to his Instagram Story at the time, where he posted a photo of himself leaning against some moving boxes. “All done,” he wrote over the photo.
Is Jax Taylor on The Valley Season 3?
No, Jax is not on The Valley Season 3. He confirmed his exit from the show in a statement in July 2025. “After an incredibly challenging year and many honest conversations with my team and producers, I’ll be stepping away from the next season of The Valley,” he said in a statement. “Right now, my focus needs to be on my sobriety, my mental health, and coparenting. Taking this time is necessary for me to become the best version for myself – especially for our son, Cruz.”
