Italian volleyball star Julia Ituma dies’ Julia Ituma has reportedly died after she allegedly fell from her hotel window. The player who was of Nigerian descent, was reportedly found motionless on the floor in the early hours of Thursday, 13th of April 2023 after which she was pronounced dead.

Italian volleyball star Julia Ituma dies
The death of the volleyball player came after her team, Novara lost in the Champions League semi-final. The 18 year old player was said to be staying on the sixth floor of the hotel when the unfortunate incident happened.
Announcing her death, her club, in a statement, revealed that the Julia’s death is a painful loss to the team. The club described her death as a tragedy to the Italian sport.
The statement from the club reads: “With deep sorrow and emotion the untimely death of Italian volleyball player Julia Ituma. The tragedy occurred in the early hours of the day and the specifics of the incident are being investigated by the Turkish police.”
According to CNN, Ituma was discovered motionless on the ground outside the Valley Hotel at around 5.30am on Thursday.
She was pronounced dead shortly after paramedics and emergency responders arrived at the scene.
Local police confirmed that an investigation into the incident has begun. Her body was later sent for forensic examination in order to determine the cause of her tragic death.
Ituma was born in 2001 in Milan to Nigerian parents and was regarded as one of Italy’s most promising volleyball players. She began playing volleyball when she was 11 years old.
She had joined Igor Gorgonzola Novara three seasons before, having transferred from Club Italia. Ituma had recently finished the season with Igor, finishing fifth in the national Serie A1 league.
