Jax Taylor Doubles Down on Brittany Cartwright House Claim

The Valley‘s Jax Taylor may have vacated his and Brittany Cartwright’s marital home for a new townhouse, but he still doesn’t understand why she moved back in.

“I personally don’t think she can take care of it on her own,” Jax explained on The Valley After Show, following his and Brittany’s Season 2 finale conversation about the $2 million farmhouse in the San Fernando Valley. “It’s a big house. I mean, you’re talking about almost 4,000 square foot of home, five bedrooms, seven bath.”

He continued, “The maintenance alone, the outside alone… Like, that was my job. That was my duty.”

Jax did acknowledge, however, that Brittany hired a “gardener,” before adding, “I also put fake grass in there, so there’s not much upkeep anymore. There’s turf.”

ICYMI: During Season 2, Episode 10, Jax previously expressed his belief that Brittany should sell the home amid their ongoing divorce, telling Jesse Lally that she is “woman with a child” and should “get something like a three-bedroom that’s manageable.”

Brittany Cartwright denies Jax Taylor’s claim about managing her home

Separately on The Valley After Show, Brittany clarified that five of the home’s six-and-a-half bathrooms are located within bedrooms, while fellow Vanderpump Rules alum Lala Kent further pointed out that she’s “using all of the rooms” anyway.

From there, Brittany broke down how her and Jax’s 4-year-old son Cruz has a sensory room and a bedroom; she has a bedroom; and there’s a guest room and gym.

“Every room is taken up,” she added. “And I have a lot of stuff. I don’t know what I would do with all my stuff. My furniture’s big.”

Plus, Brittany loves having room to host friends: “A lot of people think I’m just, like, this party animal that goes out all the time. Like, no, like, people normally just come to my house, you know? Like, I love that. I’m very much a host.”

As for the upkeep, she confirmed that she hired a landscaper who helped her add “way more girly” touches, such as alternating white and pink roses. “My flowers are prettier than they have ever been,” she noted.

The topic also arose during Jax and Brittany’s final one-on-one conversation of the season at Michelle Saniei’s “zen party.”

After Jax brought up how she went from calling him “every name in the book” to texting him pictures of flowers and backyard renovations the next day, Brittany explained her motivation for doing so.

“Do you know why I did that?” she asked. “Because you tried to gaslight me and made me think that I couldn’t handle that house by myself. And I’m trying to prove to you and show you that, yes I f–kin’ can.”

At that point, Jax insisted it wasn’t “about the house,” and warned her that she’d see “the finances” would become “real heavy,” over time.

As Brittany clapped back, however, “You are the reason why it became so expensive.”

In a confessional, she elaborated, “Let me remind you why our house is so expensive: Jax didn’t pay the mortgage for at least seven months, and all these penalties and stuff get added onto it. Plus, he didn’t pay his taxes for years. He should be thanking me.”

Meanwhile, Jax stated that he thought he was “doing the right thing” by “giving” her the house, to which Brittany shot back, “That was the dumbest thing you’ve ever done. You put me and Cruz — both of us — in a very hard situation. … It’s unfair that I had to pay for all these months whenever you could have waited until I was ready… until my lease was over.”

Get a sneak peek at the continuation of their drama as Jax and Brittany face off again at The Valley Season 2 reunion.
