Although she filed for divorce from Jax Taylor during Season 2 of The Valley, Brittany Cartwright and the former Vanderpump Rules bartender are starting to get back into a better place. Jax even revealed that despite Brittany taking over the mortgage on their $2 million San Fernando Valley modern farmhouse, he still finds himself sometimes sleeping at what used to be their joint marital home. And it’s for one reason: their son, Cruz.
“A lot of times I like to go stay at the house—our house,” Jax said in The Valley After Show video above. “That way it doesn’t uproot him. That way he has his pool. He has his house. His room. I’ll just stay at the house. She’s comfortable with me doing that.”
On Season 2, Episode 10 of The Valley, Jax, who moved into a townhouse next door to Tom Schwartz, opened up about moving out of his family home and living alone for the first time in several years.
“It’s been 10 years since I’ve lived by myself,” Jax said before adding that he was “excited [and] nervous” for the next phase of his life following his split from Brittany.
Jax Taylor opens up about his custody arrangement with Brittany Cartwright
Jax shed more light on the current visitation schedule he and Brittany have set up for their son.
“We’re getting to a good spot,” he shared on the After Show. “We don’t have a set schedule because obviously Brittany and I’s schedules are very crazy.”
But he did say the couple has a better situation in mind for the future.
“Every Wednesday. Every other weekend. That’s the goal,” he explained. “But right now it’s like, ‘Can you grab him? Can you take him for a couple nights? I need to go to New York.’ Because we travel a lot. That’s how it is right now.”
Inside Brittany Cartwright’s home transformation after Jax moved out
Although Jax occasionally stays at the home, Brittany has continued to transform it since he officially moved out. In a separate episode of The Valley After Show, Lala Kent asked Brittany, “Do you have any pictures of you and Jax in the house anymore?” to which she replied, “No, none, none,” adding that there’s “nothing that you can walk in and see” that reflects her former relationship.
She also redid what was formerly Jax’s “man cave.”
“I had a guy come in and build shelving on the walls,” Brittany explained. “And it’s got all these huge [storage] bins. And it’s got my refrigerator for drinks.”
Now, the room is primarily storage for “Christmas and Halloween decorations.”
