Jax Taylor is opening up about how his parenting journey really put his future into perspective — including whether or not he’ll remarry or have more kids after his divorce from Brittany Cartwright.
On The Valley After Show for Season 2, Episode 14, Jax acknowledged the “long road” ahead for him and Brittany following 4-year-old son Cruz Cauchi’s autism diagnosis.
“That’s another reason why I told myself I would … never get married again,” he said. “And I don’t want any more kids.”
As Jax explained in the above clip, “It’s not that I don’t want any more kids; I just feel like my son’s gonna need me. And I wanna be there and I wanna give him my full attention. And I don’t think it’s fair to bring another child in this world and try to be like, ‘OK, I have to spend time with this child, this child, this child, you know?'”

What’s more, he said he also doesn’t want to have to explain to a potential “new wife” that he might need to leave “because my ex-wife needs me with my child.”
Jax continued, “I don’t wanna ever have to question anything. He is my main priority. If he needs to live with me for the rest of his life, then he can live with me for the rest of his life. I don’t care. He’s my number one, and he will always be my number one.”
Jax Taylor reacts to Brittany Cartwright “dating somebody”
Even though Jax claimed he has no interest in remarrying or “getting in another relationship,” he revealed to Jesse Lally in Episode 14 that he was feeling “rough” after finding out Brittany was “dating somebody.”
“I don’t know how she’s getting over it so fast,” Jax admitted. “I just don’t know how she’s moving on so quickly with another man.”

Jesse encouraged him to “commit to the closure” in order to get over Brittany, like he said he had with ex Michelle Saniei.
“I’m, like, emotionally all over the place. I have severe highs and severe lows,” Jax responded. “My son, it’s just killing me with my kid. Like, it’d be a lot easier if there was no baby involved.”Â
Inside Jax Taylor and Brittany Cartwright’s attempt to set “boundaries” regarding Cruz
Explaining that he was struggling with not being able to see Cruz as often as he’d like to, Jax told Jesse he was attempting to “put a plan together” with Brittany for co-parenting.
“I don’t have a say in a lot of things right now,” Jax shared in a confessional. “The mother kind of runs the show. It’s just really hard, being able to only see your kid when she says.”
Brittany agreed to meet with Jax in her home “to set boundaries and figure out how we’re gonna co-parent with Cruz.” As she added, though, “That’s the only reason I even want to look at him right now.”
Their conversation quickly went left, and Brittany told Jax, “Cruz is not going over to your house anytime soon. He’s not. Because I don’t trust that there are not nasty women there [and] parties.”
Jax, for his part, denied that was the case. In a confessional, he added, “I don’t think she should hold her anger over me, using that as a weapon not to see my son. That’s just not fair.”
After some heated back and forth, Brittany said that all she wanted from Jax was for him to pay half of Cruz’s medical bills, igniting another argument about custody, alimony, and child support.
“Every time we fight, we get two steps forward and then 20 steps back,” Jax concluded in a confessional. “I love my kid more than anything, and I’m fighting for him. But I just don’t know how much more of this arguing and this bickering and just going after each other I can take.”
As they navigate their new normal, don’t miss the major progress Jax and Brittany made in their relationship since filming wrapped.
