The Real Housewives of Orange County‘s Katie Ginella is mourning the loss of her and Jennifer Pedranti’s friendship.
In the wake of her allegedly “failed” polygraph test, Katie met with Jenn on Season 19, Episode 9, to maintain that she answered the questions truthfully and present proof that she felt invalidated by the lie-detector results. Later, when a producer on The Real Housewives of Orange County After Show said that this would turn out to be “one of the last times” she hung out with her former bestie, Katie broke down crying.
Addressing the friendship rift that resulted from conflicting stories involving Tamra Judge and Gretchen Rossi, Katie explained in the video above that she was “most hurt” that Jenn never reached out to make sure she was OK.
“If the tables were turned, I would’ve called her, [texted] her,” she elaborated. “Even if I thought she was in the wrong, she’s a friend; I would’ve checked on her. … She said all she needed to say, without saying anything.”
It turns out that Katie and Jenn have had some communication, though,
Separately on the RHOC After Show, Jenn acknowledged that she and Katie had a “text exchange,” before sharing her recollection of what they discussed:Â “She [texted] me that she was heartbroken. I said, ‘I have been heartbroken, too.’ And she said, ‘I’m available if you want to talk.'”

Jenn continued, “Here’s the thing: Yeah, let’s have a conversation, but you gotta meet me with some realness. And now is not the time.”

Though Jenn also declared that their Episode 9 meetup was “probably the end” of the friendship, Katie hasn’t exactly given up hope.
“In her eyes, I guess, that was the last straw; it wasn’t for me,” Katie said. “Even though it’s been hard and really hurtful, I could still move on from that with Jenn because I care about her so much. I was disposable. I just can’t figure out why she won’t back me up. I can’t figure it out.”
Indeed, RHOC‘s Sept. 4 episode documented Jenn’s skepticism over Katie’s claim that the lie-detector test was a “setup” that Emily Simpson and Gina Kirschenheiter orchestrated. Their sitdown ended when Katie doubling down that she “did not lie” in her answers, rather than taking the “accountability” that Jenn demanded.

“I so hope Jenn and I can move past it and move on and be friends again because I really miss her,” Katie added on the After Show, while dabbing her eyes. “I woke up every morning at 7, and we laid in bed and talked every single morning. I don’t talk badly about Jenn. It literally just makes me sad.”
Jenn, for her part, admitted that watching the first half of Season 19 was “so hard” for her because she also misses their friendship.Â
Katie and Matt Ginella break down the Jennifer Pedranti drama
On Episode 9, both a “bummed” Katie and her husband, Matt Ginella, struggled to make sense of why Jenn and her fiancé, Ryan Boyajian, refused to acknowledge they heard what Gretchen allegedly said about Tamra, given that they were all at the same dinner, along with Slade Smiley.
In a confessional, Katie theorized, “I think the reason that Gretchen and Jenn are still saying that I somehow made this up and they never heard it and Gretchen never said it is ’cause their hate for Tamra runs deeper than telling the truth.”
After Matt remarked, “Jenn left you out to dry,” Katie responded, “Honestly, the most hurtful part of all of this is my dearest friend is like, ‘I didn’t hear it. Neither did Ryan.'”
Through tears, Katie, again, insisted that she still missed their friendship, though, adding, “It sucks. I didn’t do anything to Jenn. But I can’t figure it out, why she would do that to me.”
As she cryptically concluded, “I don’t think I’ll ever be with these women again.”
