Although Season 2 of The McBee Dynasty: Real American Cowboys shows Jesse McBee and Alli Ventresca planning to get married, it seems like the couple has already left the honeymoon phase in Episode 3. What’s causing the rift in their relationship? The high school sweethearts can’t seem to agree on where to live.

In the above preview of Episode 3 (airing July 14), Alli asks Jesse what they should do about their living situation. Currently, Alli stays in the couple’s new city house, while Jesse stays in the country to be close to the farm. The two homes are an hour away from each other, creating both physical and emotional distance between the couple.

When Jesse suggests they should live in their country house, his fiancé disagrees. Alli reminds him that her family, friends, and nursing job are all in the city, making it difficult for her to leave.

“So we get married, we go on our honeymoon and have a great time for a week and then come back and, what, split off again?” Jesse responds.

Alli agrees that living apart is not a long-term solution. Later in the conversation, Jesse says that he doesn’t “understand the point” of them being married if they don’t live together, and confirms that he wants Alli to live in the country with him.

“And if I did not want to do that?” Alli asks. “Is that gonna be, like, a dealbreaker for you?” To that, Jesse responds, “I would say, yeah.”

He elaborates on his feelings in a confessional: “I don’t feel comfortable getting married if we’re not gonna be able to live together,” Jesse says.

Inside Jesse McBee and Alli Ventresca’s living situation

The couple addressed their home life at length in Season 2, Episode 2. During episode, Alli shared that her and Jesse “don’t see a lot of each other,” in a confessional.

When reflecting on the situation, Jesse emphasized that he wishes he could spend more time in the city with Alli. “Unfortunately, I can’t pick up this ground that we own and farm and move it down to the city. It’s in dire need right now, and the stakes are higher than they’ve ever been,” Jesse said during a confessional. “I think that’s the biggest issue that we’re having right now. It causes a lot of fighting, honestly.”

Later in the episode, Jesse’s mom, Kristi McBee, gave her two cents on the situation. “I don’t want you guys living apart, that’s not a marriage,” she told Alli and Jesse.
