When deckhand Joe Bradley decided to weigh in on bosun Nathan Gallagher’s complicated romantic situation with deckhand Gael Cameron during Below Deck Mediterranean Season 10, it put a bad taste in Nathan’s mouth. Joe’s comments came on the news that Gael—who filled in for one charter while deckhand Victoria “V” SanJuan was ill—traveled to Menorca to surf with male friends.
“She asked me, ‘Would it be an issue?’ And I said, ‘No,’” Nathan told Joe during Episode 17.
But Joe was skeptical. “If she can’t behave, know what I mean? This could be a little test,” he said. Though Nathan insisted, “It’s not a test,” Joe continued, “If she’s unfaithful, mate, well then—” before trailing off.
“I’m not worried about cheating. We’re not even together,” Joe told producers during a confessional. “I just want to get Gael back on this yacht, because I need to know where the hell we stand.” (Fans will remember the on-off couple broke up following Below Deck Med Season 9, but reconciled in Season 10 when Gael filled in for one charter.)
Nathan Gallagher and Joe Bradley’s friendship hits a rough patch due to Gael Cameron
Besties Joe and Nathan hit a bump in their friendship over the course of Below Deck Med Season 10, partly due to Nathan’s relationship with Gael.
“I think I’ve grown this season as a person. Having Gael around, like in my life—even just a little bit—I’m wanting to be a better version of myself,” he admitted to producers during the Jan. 19 episode. “I hope Joe, for the sake of our friendship, doesn’t keep making these dumba—s decisions, because I don’t want to be associated with that. The man needs to wise up and grow up.”

Nathan and Gael took a particular issue with Joe’s treatment of V. During Episode 16, viewers got a peek at Nathan and Gael’s text messages about their frustrations. “You would be so annoyed. Joe’s back to his old tricks flirting with Kizzi in front of V,” Nathan said. Gael replied, “Poor V!”
Nathan warned Joe to “keep it in [his] f—king trousers” with Kizzi. But when Joe said he still wanted to hook up with her on the final night of the charter season, Nathan questioned whether their bromance had a future.
“I’ve grown since last season. I can see the distance it’s created, to see him do the same s—t time and time again,” Nathan told producers in the Jan. 19 episode. “Shows me that he has no consideration for anyone apart from himself. I just—it might be time to move on from that kind of friendship.”
