Detectives looking into the death of Ashley Dale, 28, who was discovered with a gunshot wound in the backyard of her home in Old Swan, Liverpool, detained a 40-year-old and a 28-year-old from Huyton, Merseyside, on Monday on suspicion of murder and possession of a handgun with intent.

On August 21, at around 12.40 am, officers were summoned to an address in Leinster Road due to allegations of a woman’s safety there.

A 25-year-old St Helens man has been questioned at a Police station on suspicion of aiding an offender, according to Merseyside Police.

All three guys have already been detained in connection with the inquiry. Fifteen persons have been arrested for Dale’s death overall.

In Liverpool last year, there were three deadly shootings within a week; on August 22, nine-year-old Olivia Pratt-Korbel was shot and murdered in her House in Dovecot, and on August 16, 22-year-old Sam Rimmer was shot and killed in Dingle.

Joseph Peers And James Witham, the prime suspect in Ashley Dale Murder Case, has now been charged with murdering Ashley, who was killed in her back garden.

Just before 1:00 BST on August 21, Ashley Dale, 28, was discovered bleeding from a gunshot wound outside her home in Liverpool’s Old Swan neighbourhood. She later passed away in a hospital.

Joseph Peers, 28, of Woodlands Road in Roby, and James Witham, 40, of Ashbury Road in Huyton, have been charged with murder and intentionally possessing a firearm.

They have an appearance scheduled in Wirral Adult Remand Court. A 25-year-old St Helens man who was previously detained on suspicion of aiding an offender is still being held, according to Police.

Dale, a Knowsley Council environmental health officer, is not thought to have been the primary target of the shooting.

In Liverpool last year, three people were shot to death in a week; her death was one of them.

On what would have been Ashley Dale’s 29th birthday in December, her family released a statement: “Her loss is beyond words, the family has been torn apart, and life can never be ‘normal’ again.”
