Joshua Clark Charged With Capital Murder Death After 6-year-old Child Dies From Suspected Abuse
Anniston Police officers responded to Northeast Alabama Regional Medical Center on Wednesday, Jan. 18 to a report of child abuse, the department said. There, a 6-year-old unconscious victim was undergoing treatment and had to be transported to Children’s Hospital Birmingham.
Clark was on scene at the hospital and was transported to the Anniston Police Department for questioning before he was placed under arrest and charged with aggravated child abuse.
Friday, police were notified the child did not survive the injuries and died at Children’s Hospital. The charges against Clark were then upgraded to capital murder.
The Blount County Sheriff’s Office confirmed the child was the brother of a child who was killed in 2019. Police arrested and charged Samantha McCormack, the mother, and her boyfriend Robert Elmore Jr.
