A new preview of The Real Housewives of Potomac Season 10 premiere features footage of Karen Huger’s Sept. 2 release from prison following her sentence for a DUI conviction.
The sneak peek of the episode (airing on Sunday, Oct. 5 at 8 p.m. ET/PT) begins with audio of Karen telling herself, “it will be fine,” before she enters a chauffeured vehicle. Meanwhile, reporters are gathered nearby, hoping to catch a glimpse of the Housewife as she greets those inside the car, “Hello.”
Once behind the tinted windows of the full-size SUV, Karen’s asked how she’s doing. “I’m good, thank you,” she begins. “Do we have tissues in here? Thank you so much.”
From there, the vehicle drives away from the correctional facility.
Why was Karen Huger in prison?
Karen served six months behind bars after a jury found her guilty of multiple counts related to a March 19, 2024, single-car collision, concluding what was a two-day trial. Her charges included driving under the influence, driving while intoxicated, speeding, driving with a suspended registration, and not reporting a change of address to the Maryland Motor Vehicle Administration.
After she was found guilty, Karen sat down with a producer from RHOP to share her reaction.
“My heart dropped,” she admitted in a clip that played at the RHOP Season 9 reunion, which she did not attend. “This is very frightening, but I accept full responsibility for everything that went on with my car accident. I don’t care about me right now; I care about my children, I care about my family. They are so hurt… I know a lot of young children look up to me right now, [they] call me Auntie Karen, [the] Grand Dame. Do as I say, not as I do.”

How the RHOP cast reacted to Karen Huger’s prison sentencing
The above RHOP Season 10 preview also features footage from the “crazy 72 hours” following Karen’s February 2025 sentencing.
Gizelle Bryant is among the first to react to the news, explaining in a confessional interview, “I feel so many different emotions. I wish this weren’t happening. Do I want Karen in jail? Absolutely not. But do I want to make sure that we don’t have a fifth DUI? For sure. But I just want my Karen back, I really do.”
Ashley Darby, Wendy Osefo, Stacey Rusch, and Keiarna Stewart eventually arrive to Gizelle’s house and share their own thoughts on the matter.
