Below Deck’s Kate Chastain is upping her bargaining game when it comes to her 2-year-old son, Sullivan Cay.
The former chief stew shared a sweet look into motherhood with a series of Instagram pics of the toddler in the driver’s seat of a black truck. The curly-haired boy was all smiles behind the wheel, but the Bravo Bravo F’ing Bravo host shared an ulterior motive in the Jan. 12 post. “I told him our new car could be his when he turns 16 if he promises to pee pee in his potty,” she wrote.
Survivor’s Cirie Fields — who competed alongside Kate (and won) on Season 1 of The Traitors — spoke for many when she commented, “Ummmm License and registration for all that cuteness Sir” with a bunch of heart-eyed emojis. Below Deck Mediterranean alum Kasey Cohen also gushed over Sullivan’s “infectious smile.”
But as far as potty training goes, Kate has already touched on the challenges. At BravoCon 2025 in Las Vegas, she revealed to The Daily Dish that it will be “exciting once it’s done… A lot of laundry in the meantime.”
Kate Chastain shares a new look at her and Sullivan Cay’s Florida home
As Kate patiently waits for Sullivan to complete his bathroom-related milestones, there is another matter on the home front that has finally paid off: the blooming of floral vines on the exterior of the family unit’s historic Melbourne-area, Florida home.
Kate shared a video of the wraparound plant, trained to crawl up the columns of her impressive, sunlit patio. As she wrote on her Instagram Stories, “I have been waiting 5 months for my Thai Imperial Delight Bougainvillea to start showing its ombré.”

She zoomed in on the flowers’ garden green and faded purple before revealing the patio, with lime-green ceiling beams, an outdoor sectional with striped pillows, and a wall foundation in the background. In a follow-up Instagram Story, Kate shared more close-ups of the plant, and from the new angle, she took viewers into a yard filled with ferns, climbing roots, and lush ivy.
How Kate Chastain and her son spent the holidays in their new home
While at this year’s BravoCon, Kate shared the excitement of mother and son’s first Christmas in the new home, noting it was the first holiday Sullivan could be excited about as he continues to grow. For context, Kate purchased the 100-year-old “dream home” in early 2025 to serve as the Sullivan’s forever home.

For the holidays, Kate said, “I’m excited to do the garlands, and the Christmas lights, and the Christmas tree … I didn’t love Christmas that much before I had a child, but it’s really fun to experience it now, through his eyes.”
Just the latest of many at-home adventures between Kate and Sullivan, including the tot’s “favorite new game.”
