When it comes to the boyfriend of Vanderpump Rules alum Katie Maloney, the jury is in: Katie’s mom approves.
Katie and her rock musician boyfriend, Nick Martin, have taken their love life on the road as the guitarist and the rest of his band, Sleeping with Sirens, continue their “Don’t Let The Party Die” tour. But for one exciting leg of the trip, Katie’s mom, Teri Maloney, let it all rock out, as seen in a handful of Instagram pics taken from the Hoover Dam. “So fun having my mom out to a show,” Katie posted. “She loved the bus tour so much, she had to climb in Nick’s bunk.”
Teri later climbed into the comments section to share her approval of her daughter’s BF, stating, “OMG, it was so much fun with you and Nick last night! Loved seeing Nick in action, and I’m definitely a SWS fan! Snuggling with you in Nick’s bunk was the icing on the cake!”
Nick, also commenting under Katie’s pics, said he was “so stoked” that Teri “cruised out & got to experience bus/bunk life for a moment.”
Teri responded, “The bed/bunk life can only be a brief moment for me, though,” adding a laughing-crying emoji. Perhaps most telling was the series of snaps with Teri proudly wearing the band’s shirt, whether grinning away between the couple, hanging out with Katie in the sound booth, or — as she mentioned — cuddling close with Katie on the tour bus.

The mom-approved post above is just the latest of Katie’s rock-and-roll adventures with Nick. The Something About Her sandwich shop owner joined her “honey” earlier this May at the Welcome to Rockville festival in Florida. Weeks later, she couldn’t miss out on having “the wildest date night” during the band’s stop in Colorado.

Earlier in Sleeping with Sirens’ North American tour, the group announced they’d open for the band Pierce the Veil, along with Beach Weather and Daisy Grenade. It’s been a head-banging time ever since for the woman whose IG handle is “MusicKillsKate.”

The couple also makes time for all sorts of special dates. She and Nick recently jetted to the U.K. to see Oasis in concert. Katie leaned in close to Nick outside England’s Wembley Stadium, and once inside, captured an uber-sweet close-up of the couple from the audience. She captioned the July 31 Instagram post, “Where were you while we were getting high?” a line from Oasis’s popular ’90s hit, “Champagne Supernova.”
In June, Nick commented that Katie was his “rock and a constant inspiration in [his] life,” as seen on Instagram. He added, “I love you.”

Katie has come a long way since her 12-year relationship with Tom Schwartz came to an end, as seen on Vanderpump Rules.

Although Tom remained pretty neutral when headlines first began about Katie and Nick’s relationship, the ex-husband — who shares custody with Katie over their two dogs, Gordo and Butter — had only good things to say about Katie’s new man. “But I met Nick, and he’s so cool, so down to earth, and obviously a rockstar,” he previously told E! News. “Listen, I love seeing her happy. If she’s happy, I’m happy.”
Tom saw himself as the “odd man out” since he thought Katie “always dated musicians.” But, still, the exes were “on great terms.”
As far as Katie’s mom goes, Tom and Teri are also on OK terms. In March, the former in-laws reunited at Something About Her.

Katie and Nick became Instagram official on December 10, 2024, and days later, Nick and Katie were already enjoying dinner with Teri Maloney.
“He has the biggest, softest heart, best smile,” Katie said of her rockstar boyfriend in March. “He’s patient and loving. He takes care of me and my heart.”
And there’s lots of love to go around. Just as Nick gained the adoration and approval of Katie’s mom, Katie also had a fantastic relationship with Nick’s parents, as she explained on the Disrespectfully podcast Katie hosts with former VPR SUR-ver, Dayna Kathan. Katie called them “so sweet and fun,” adding, “I just love spending time with them.”
Only time will tell if Katie will continue traveling with Nick and the band as the tour continues, but October is already filling with nearly a dozen stops from Alabama to Las Vegas and all the way to Mexico, according to Sleeping with Sirens’ website.
