Kentucky Cops Seek Help Solving Murder of Woman Found Shot Dead in Rural Ditch – Crime Online

Police in Kentucky are seeking help as they investigate the murder of a 42-year-old woman found shot to death and dumped in ditch alongside a rural road south of Louisville.

Bullitt County Chief Deputy Alex Payne told WLKY that Patricia England, whose body was found earlier this month and identified this week, was originally from Wisconsin and had been in the central Kentucky area for just a few months.

“We don’t have any idea right now where this lady was hours, minutes — heck, even days prior to us being called there to find her where we found her,” Payne said.

A bicyclist found the body on November 9 and flagged down a motorist, who called 911.

“You basically have a body in the ditch on the side of the road. There’s no ID on them, no driver’s license, nothing else that would identify this individual,” Payne said.

Payne said investigators know that England had been spending time in the unincorporated Rineyville area, about seven miles northwest of Elizabethtown.

“Nobody needs to leave this life like that, and so we owe her. We owe it to her family to do our due diligence to the best of our ability to find out what happened. And not only what happened but in so doing finding out who did it,” Payne said.
