Kentucky Man Charged With Killing His Mother, Calling Ambulance to Say She ‘Fell’ – Crime Online

A Kentucky man has been charged with the murder of his mother after he called for an ambulance earlier this month saying she had fallen.

Tyler Prince called 911 on January 10, but doctors at Mercy Health Paducah said Jessica Gerth had suffered injuries inconsistent with fall, Clay County News reported. Her injuries were so severe, in fact, that she was transported to a trauma center in Tennessee in critical condition.

Kentucky State Police began investigating the incident and charged Prince, 20, with first degree domestic violence.

Two days later, on January 12, the hospital notified state police that Gerth had succombed to her injuries. Police added a charge of murder (domestic violence) to Prince’s charge sheet.

Prosecutors brought the case to a grand jury on January 18, and the defendant was indicted on assault and murder charges.

Prince remains behind bars at the Ballard County Jail on a $250,000 bond, according to Kentucky Today. He is due in court on March 7.
