During VPR‘s Season 12 premiere, Kim explained how Natalie’s recent split from another co-worker named Paulo had shifted the trio’s dynamic.

“Natalie’s one of my closest friends here in L.A.” she shared with a producer. “But ever since her breakup, she’s been looking for attention in all the wrong places — including my boyfriend.”

A flashback from twelve hours earlier showed Kim and Marcus discussing how their relationship was in the best place it had been since they started dating. As Kim cautioned him, however, “I will be mad at you if you keep hugging Natalie and texting her.”

After all, as she went on to explain in a confessional, “Natalie was sending Marcus ‘good morning’ texts, which is not appropriate to send anyone you’re not dating. … And then she’s sending him pictures of heels, a guy’s fantasy. They’re called f–k me heels for a reason. I mean, like, really?”

Inside Kim Suarez and Natalie Maguire’s heated confrontation over Marcus Johnson on Vanderpump Rules

The drama reached a boiling point when the SUR staff decided to grab some late-night, post-work beverages at The Belmont during Vanderpump Rules‘ Dec. 2 episode. Just as Marcus began to explain how he loved Natalie “to death,” SUR assistant manager Demy Selem interjected, “You do not love her to death. You guys really aren’t friends. … You guys are friendly, but you’re not friends.”

After Kim chimed in repeating, “Thank you!” to Demy, Natalie also entered the chat to defend her sibling-like friendship with Marcus.

“This is ridiculous,” the lead bartender fired back. “He literally said that I’m like a sister to him.”

In a confessional, Natalie further claimed to have “photographic evidence” that she and Marcus had been friends “since before any of us even knew Kimberly.” As she pointed out, she had attended Marcus’ birthday party in 2023, but he and Kim had been dating for less than a year at that point.

While Kim attempted to prove her point by quizzing Natalie on the names of Marcus’ sisters, the argument escalated to them shouting over each other. Afterward, Kim opened up to The Daily Dish about how her and Natalie’s heated exchange still stood out to her above all others from the entirety of Season 12.

“The craziest moment I’ve had all season, I would say, Episode 1, the Belmont, just Natalie and I fighting,” she exclusively shared. “I mean, it was just so unexpected. I think we went into it thinking it’s gonna be so much fun, and immediately it was just, like, insane. So, for me, I mean, that just really sticks out, that fight between us.”

Kim Suarez and Marcus Johnson revealed what happened off-camera after the argument with Natalie Maguire

As it turned out, the drama continued off-camera between Kim and Marcus at her home, immediately after the dustup with Natalie at The Belmont.

During a gym session with Shayne Davis the next morning, Marcus detailed how Kim “turned” her anger toward him, accusing him of being a “joke” and a “s–tty boyfriend” for sitting back and allowing Natalie to “yell at her.”

Kim, meanwhile, debriefed Venus Binkley on how Marcus, instead of trying to “deal with it,” had left her “sitting on the couch crying” while he went outside to smoke a cigarette. At around 5:00 a.m., Marcus eventually just went back to his place to get some sleep. Because he didn’t answer her “hundred” phone calls in the interim, Kim headed to his home.

According to Marcus, he opened the door for Kim, but “literally didn’t say one word to her,” before returning to bed.

“She woke up, and she’s like, ‘Are we gonna talk about this?'” he recounted for Shayne. “I’m like, ‘F–k no, we’re not gonna talk about it. Not right now.'”
