Kristen Doute and Luke Broderick are not looking to move out of the valley anytime soon, now that they’re a family of three. The Valley Season 3 cast members welcomed their daughter, Kaia Lilly Broderick, into the world in May 2025, but they’re not necessarily looking to put their roots down in California despite not being in a rush to find a new home.
Kristen and Luke both spoke to The Daily Dish in March, where they revealed that they were still exploring options for places to make their forever home. This includes Colorado, where Luke owns a home and several acres of land, as well as Indiana, where the couple owns property. But they’re pretty happy for now.
“We’re renting in the Valley right now,” Kristen explained. “So we do not have plans to buy in LA, but instead to save to buy wherever it is that we are gonna put our roots next. But stay renting in LA is the plan right now.”
Kristen Doute shares updates on Luke Broderick’s Colorado property
Kristen continued, sharing some major updates on Luke’s property in Colorado, which he still owns. “Luke also has a house in Colorado,” she explained. “He owns 70 acres of land in Colorado.”
“And so the house just got doubled in size,” she added. “So we’re excited for that house to be finished and to be able to spend more time out there.”

Luke, however, admitted that he is very hesitant about moving again, especially in California. “I do not want to move again within the city,” Luke explained.
“I want to stay in this house until we are ready to buy a place that will be our home for the next 20 years,” he admitted. “So I hope we don’t have to move again because we moved a lot initially in our relationship.”

Kristen Doute and husband Luke Broderick discuss living in California
Kristen and Luke’s decision to move was something that was heavily discussed during The Valley Season 2. The couple appeared on The Valley After Show at the time, where Kristen revealed why Luke has been open to staying in California. “I think as long as he knows that I’m willing to get out of here, for periods of time, whether it’s to go to Colorado for a month or a few weeks there and not just these little weekend trips and we’re stuck in this house, then we’ve made it,” Kristen explained.
“Personally, I’d like to stay in this house until we buy our forever home. That’s my goal,” Luke reiterated. “We’re not 100 percent on the same page because there are days that Kristen hates the house we’re in. But it’s becoming our space. I’d like to be there until we’re talking about school for our daughter.”
