Kristen Doute and Luke Broderick discussed plans to settle down outside of California, and now they are clearing up exactly when they plan to move. Kristen and Luke both caught up with The Daily Dish while stopping by Bravo HQ in recent weeks, and shared how they feel about where they’ll land long term.
The Valley castmates got engaged in September 2024 and are expecting a baby girl in June, which may offer some insight into what their next move is. “We said, I forget when, maybe it was like at The Valley premiere, that we didn’t want to raise our daughter here in LA,” Kristen told The Daily Dish in April. “But we don’t mean we’re moving like tomorrow or even like a year from now. Just before she’s school age.”

Though they shared wedding plans are on hold until they give birth, it doesn’t mean they’re not mapping out their future together. Moving from Los Angeles was up for discussion since the beginning of their relationship, Kristen explained. Kristen and Luke started dating after meeting at a wedding in 2022. “It was like kind of thing for Luke that when we first started dating and before we got engaged that…I would not keep him in LA forever,” Kristen said.
Buying a house elsewhere doesn’t mean Kristen will be far from the action of The Valley and her friend group necessarily. “We can always have a place in LA that we can kind of go to and from,” Kristen said. “Right now, Tennessee is on the table because it’s entertainment, but they don’t prioritize entertainment as a way of life.”
Luke explained in a separate interview that he even has a city in mind, as Nashville makes sense to him in part due to the proximity to both of their families, he explained in his own interview with The Daily Dish. “It’d be like five hours from my family, eight hours from her family, which is not real close, but you can drive down for the weekend with that kind of distance,” Luke reasoned.
Other key factors he considered included: “The entertainment that’s there, as well as all the outdoor recreation I like to do [is] at my fingertips, and the affordability.”

When would Kristen and Luke move from the Valley area in Los Angeles?
“I’m talking like four, five years from now,” Kristen clarified about her intentions to move after they have the baby.
Luke has warmed to the Los Angeles area and accepted he’ll be there for the next couple of years, he revealed, adding, his “ideal timeline” for a move would also be before they enroll their daughter in school.
Nia Booko playfully encouraged Kristen to move near her new home in Santa Clarita during their joint chat with The Daily Dish.
“Luke is very open to Santa Clarita now that Nia and Daniel have moved there,” Kristen responded. “He just wants bang for the buck. He doesn’t understand living in a city where you can pay $1 million and get like a two-bedroom home.”
Luke drove this point home as he compared what they could potentially purchase in Tennessee versus Los Angeles. “We can have an acre and a 3,000-square-foot house for under a million dollars, and you can’t do that in Los Angeles,” Luke said.
