It seems Kristen Doute’s wedding plans are no longer on pause.

Nearly a year after getting engaged to Luke Broderick, The Valley mom revealed she and her fiancé were in the early stages of planning their marriage ceremony.
“We’ve just started talking about the wedding,” she told People magazine on August 21. “It has been on a back burner for a really long time.”
Why Kristen Doute & Luke Broderick put their wedding plans on hold
Kristen and Luke decided to shelve their wedding plans in late 2024, around the time Kristen became pregnant with their first child. The couple initially said they would resume wedding talks sometime in 2026, as they were simply too focused on their growing family.
“We’ll probably start talking about [the wedding] next year. It could happen next year,” Kristen told The Daily Dish in May, about a month before giving birth to her daughter, Kaia Lily. “I don’t know. I don’t want to wait too long, but I think we need to settle into being parents and this whole chapter of our lives and really know what we’re doing before we try to plan anything else.”
Kristen Doute hires Stephen McGee to plan her wedding
Well, it turns out all Kristen and Luke needed was a little assistance, which is why they hired a fellow Bravolebrity to plan their wedding.
“I’m always at Brittany [Cartwright’s] house, and we were hanging out at Brittany’s, and our friend Stephen McGee, who is on Summer House Season 1, he immediately just got into… It’s like all of his intuition was into my brain and my emotions. He’s like, ‘What about this place or this many people?’ And all of a sudden I’m going, ‘Stephen, you’re a freaking wedding planner. Will you be my wedding planner?’ I honestly proposed to him and he said, ‘Yes, I will.’”
There’s no doubt that Kristen and Luke are in good hands. Since leaving Summer House after Season 2, Stephen has made big moves within the event planning industry. According to his website, the Alabama native has helped produce celebrity parties and weddings, as “some of New York City’s biggest events,” like the star-studded Met Gala and CFDA Fashion Awards.
Kristen said hiring Stephen was “the best thing ever.”
“Biggest weight off of my chest I’ve ever felt,” she explained to People. “And then I told Luke, and Luke was like, ‘Thank god.’”
Where will Kristen Doute & Luke Broderick get married?
Kristen said she’s still locking down major wedding details, like where the ceremony will take place. She told the outlet she’s debating “between island and country” settings, but is leaning more toward the latter.

“I’m feeling more of a country vibe and having acres and land,” she said. “And my whole thing is I want to make it easiest for our guests. That’s what makes me the happiest, is that they have inexpensive places to choose from… And so as much as I wanted to do an island and have a lot of people out, it feels more feasible and more us.”
