There’s a new man in Brittany Cartwright’s life. And Kristen Doute approves.
Kristen dropped the big news on Thursday, August 21, nearly a year after Brittany filed for divorce from Jax Taylor. The marital split was explored in The Valley Season 2, which found the estranged couple clashing over everything from their living situations to their coparenting arrangement to their post-split romantic lives.
Kristen Doute on the “wonderful” man in Brittany Cartwright’s life
Kristen confirmed Brittany had dated multiple guys since the Jax separation, but her new man was unlike anybody else.
“She has someone in her life that’s really amazing that I am head over heels for,” Kristen told People magazine at a Narwal event in Los Angeles. “She’s dated people during her single years since her ex-husband, and I have not approved of them. They’ve been fine, but not wonderful. This person is very wonderful and very cool. Very family-feeling.”

When asked if the relationship was “serious,” Brittany simply replied, “We’ll see.”
Brittany Cartwright opens up about dating after Jax Taylor split
Brittany touched on her dating life during her July 22 appearance on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen, where she declared herself “single as a Pringle.”
“Dating after being separated and going through a divorce is so weird,” she explained. “It’s not the easiest thing ever… It’s just, like, you notice so many little things because the red flags and stuff I have to watch out for. I don’t want to be in another situation like I was and just ignore, ignore, ignore, because I try to always see the best in people, and you always think somebody is going to change.”
Have Brittany Cartwright and Jax Taylor finalized their divorce?
During Part 1 of The Valley Season 2 reunion, Brittany accused Jax of intentionally dragging out their divorce proceedings because he wasn’t sure if he would return for Season 3.

“Hopefully it’s happening soon,” Brittany said about the divorce finalization. “[Jax] called me the other day and said that he didn’t know if he was gonna get kicked off the show, so he was prolonging it in case he needed to get alimony from me.”
“That’s somewhat true,” Jax responded.
“That’s verbatim what you said to me,” Brittany fired back. “Don’t act like you didn’t say that to me.”
Jax Taylor announces The Valley exit after Season 2
The Season 2 reunion was filmed in early May, more than a month before Jax announced he was leaving The Valley.
“After an incredibly challenging year and many honest conversations with my team and producers, I’ll be stepping away from the next season of The Valley,” he said in a statement. “Right now, my focus needs to be on my sobriety, my mental health, and coparenting. Taking this time is necessary for me to become the best version of myself – especially for our son, Cruz [Michael Cauchi].”
