Kyle Cooke Shares Thoughts on Paige DeSorbo’s Career Move

Kyle Cooke confessed that Paige DeSorbo’s Summer House exit brought him to tears.

The Loverboy founder recalled his reaction during a red-carpet interview with E! News, less than two weeks after Paige announced she would not return for Summer House Season 10. Kyle, who was on the red carpet with his wife/castmate, Amanda Batula, said he learned about Paige’s exit roughly 10 days before it was publicly announced, but the situation didn’t sink in until he posted a heartfelt tribute to his longtime housemate.

“I knew eventually the time would come, but it still surprised me, and I was sad,” he told the outlet about Paige’s departure. “It didn’t really hit me until I posted about it and I clicked ‘post’ and I started crying. I’m like, ‘Oh my god.’”

Kyle Cooke “sobbed” after Paige DeSorbo’s Summer House exit

Amanda corroborated her hubby’s story, saying he broke down in tears after the news broke.

“This man sobbed. He was crying uncontrollably on the couch,” Amanda recalled. “He had tears running down his face. He couldn’t stop crying. I was like, ‘You are fine.’”

Kyle said he wanted to “connect” with Paige before she revealed her decision, but didn’t get the chance because of her increasingly busy schedule. So, he decided to express his feelings in an Instagram post in which he likened Paige to a “little sister.”

“I know it’s not goodbye, and I’m so proud of your success, but today’s news has me feeling a little [sad],” he wrote in the June 5 post. “I’ve quite literally watched you grow up and accomplish so much over the last 7 years… Selfishly, I wish we had one more summer together since there were a few distractions last year, but I am so happy and excited for you and what’s to come. You will be missed tremendously, but the summer house door is always open (and prob broken).”

Amanda Batula applauds Paige DeSorbo’s career wins: “We support her”

Amanda echoed Kyle’s sentiment during the red-carpet chat, saying she was “sad” that Paige would not return to the Hamptons this summer, but was also excited for her bestie’s next chapter.

“It’s like when your best friend moves from your hometown and doesn’t go to your school anymore,” she said. “It’s weird, but I wasn’t surprised by it. I think we all sort of saw it coming…

“It’s amazing to watch her grow and succeed,” Amanda continued. “You know, these summers, they can be a lot sometimes. And she has her book, she has her podcast, her tour, her new line (Daphne) that she came out with. She’s doing so many things. So, the girl, she needs to nap… We support her.”
