The NYC-based Bravoleb chatted with comedian Adam Glyn, as shared on a Jan. 22 Instagram reel, explaining that although he and Amanda are still cordial, more will follow the headline-making news “when the timing’s right.”

“I think people will be surprised, but also happy to see that Amanda and I are in a good spot,” Kyle said. “Obviously, the internet’s gonna do its thing, but we literally pushed ‘send’ together when we posted that.”

Of course, the breakup was “a lot swallow,” especially since the whole of their relationship has been heavily featured on the Hamptons-based series. Kyle said there was “still a lot of love” between them; however, it didn’t go unnoticed by those close to the couple that they began living in separate places.

“It was like the worst-kept secret, but we just weren’t ready to talk about it,” Kyle noted, adding that the timing of the Jan. 19 announcement — mere weeks before the Season 10 premiere and one month following the trailer’s release — was on their time and their time alone. As he put it, “It’s a tough topic, right? But we’re gonna get asked a thousand questions about our relationship based on the trailer itself, so we decided [to] rip the Band-Aid off.”

The Loverboy brand founder declined to get into the timeline of their split, but said the joint statement was a way to “nip it in the bud” for concerns that continuing to keep their relationship intact would give themselves and others “false hope.” Still, they remain on the same page, ready to do press together in the upcoming week.

“This isn’t, like, a big breakup where there’s a smoking gun and there’s a lot of hate. There’s absolutely some frustration … I’ve done things, she’s done things,” Kyle continued. “But we’ve got each other’s back[s]. We care about each other. We still love each other.”

How Kyle Cooke and Amanda Batula announced their split

The Summer House OGs released a statement on Instagram Stories on Jan.19, calling their separation mutual and amicable.

They wrote, “We share this with a heavy heart and kindly ask for your grace and support while we focus on our personal growth and healing. It feels ironic to ask for privacy during this time since we’ve always tried to be open and honest about our relationship, but your kindness and respect will go a long way as we try to navigate our next chapter.”

A timeline of Kyle Cooke and Amanda Batula’s relationship

Kyle and Amanda dated for seven months and broke up prior to the 2017 release of Summer House’s first season, but things were back on once they began filming together. Back then, much of their hesitation was rooted in Amanda wanting a committed relationship and Kyle not being ready.

Relationship highs and lows commenced, peaking when Kyle proposed marriage in the Season 3 finale during a romantic yacht excursion.

“Life with him is exciting,” Amanda told People at the time. “And to think he wants to spend the rest of his life with me, and I feel the same way, it’s just a real happy feeling.”

The pair said “I do” on Sept. 25, 2021, in the backyard of Amanda’s New Jersey family’s home — one year after postponing the big day due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

How Kyle Cooke and Amanda Batula’s marital woes will play out on Summer House Season 10

The upcoming season’s trailer teases tensions and blowouts between the show’s only married couple, with Amanda possibly sharing insight into their marital woes. As she says in the video (see above), “I wanted him to stop going out and partying, and he found a career where he goes out late and parties.”

She later accuses Kyle of falling asleep “at some fan’s apartment” and not coming home until 6:30 a.m., while Kyle points out that their issues stem from “compatibility, chemistry, [and] intimacy.” “What about that s–t?” Kyle asks her.

Matters seem to culminate at the dinner table when the rest of the cast gets involved, leading to Kyle slapping the table and getting into a very heated exchange with Carl Radke.
