Kyle Richards’ dating life after separating from Mauricio Umansky has provided plenty of fodder for her curious castmates on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, due, at least in part, to her vague statements on the subject.
During the second episode of Season 15, however, Kyle was more forthcoming than ever, going so far as to admit that she “was in a relationship,” sometime after she and Mauricio announced their split in October 2023. Kyle first opened up to Erika Jayne during a heart-to-heart at her home.
“I am so tired of people asking about my dating life,” Kyle began. “Erika, if you were seeing someone that you cared very much about, that specifically says … ‘I’m not a part of this group, and you know, be respectful,’ would you betray that person, just because people are curious?”

After Erika answered that she would “protect that person,” Kyle explained, “I’m always an honest person. You know, I’m not a liar. But, you know, I don’t know what people want from me. I’m single now, OK? You know, I was seeing someone I cared about very much.”
After dabbing tears from her eyes, Kyle shared more love life intel in a confessional.
“Since separating from Mau, I was in a relationship,” she told a producer. “I was at a very vulnerable place in my life, and I fell hard for this person. You know, if I’m in love with somebody, I want to share that. I don’t care. I’m an open person like that. But that doesn’t mean that the person I’m with feels the same way.”

Keeping her promise of discretion, Kyle never mentioned the name of the individual she was in a relationship with, but she made clear that they had since broken up.
“All the speculation and the gossip and the talking is what ultimately ended it,” she added. “I could’ve weathered the storm, but this is not for everyone.”
Kyle also began telling a producer, “I think if this person weren’t so afraid of the public scrutiny and the life under a microscope…” but stopped short of finishing her statement.

Meanwhile, during her candid chat with Erika, the mom of four conceded that she understood the curiosity from her castmates and the public alike.
“People think they’re owed an answer,” Kyle elaborated. “If it [were] only me, I would give all the answers they want, but it’s not just about me.”

As it turns out, Kyle’s fellow diamond holders weren’t the only ones with questions about whether (and whom) she was dating.
Earlier in RHOBH‘s Dec. 11 episode, Kyle visited Mauricio’s new Hollywood Hills home for the first time, and her estranged husband asked, “Have you gone on any dates?”
After Kyle answered, “No, I’m single,” Mau reminded her, “You’re allowed to go on dates.”
“Yeah, but I haven’t gone on any dates,” Kyle responded, before referencing PDA paparazzi photos of his romances that had surfaced online. “You know that I would not be in a situation like you, sorry to say.”
After some lighthearted banter about him being in his “hoe era,” Kyle remarked in a confessional, “Yes, I have dated since Mau and I have been separated. But I can also be private and discreet, unlike Mau. We don’t need to see that of each other; our kids don’t need to see it. I don’t feel the need to parade around showing it off to everyone.”
