The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills’ Kyle Richards might have learned a thing or two from her estranged husband, Mauricio Umansky, because now she’s wearing her real estate cap for all to see.
“I just love real estate,” she confessed in an exclusive interview with The Daily Dish at BravoCon 2025, which is precisely why she just purchased a house far away from the 90210 … in Tennessee, in fact.
“I genuinely am very passionate about that,” calling real estate one of her “favorite things” since she and Mauricio, founder of The Agency luxury real estate brokerage, announced their split in 2023 after 27 years of marriage. What’s more, two of Kyle’s four daughters, Farrah Aldjufrie and Alexia Umansky, are also real estate agents.
“I just want to just do something that I, you know, as a newly single woman, can say, ‘This is something that I’m doing; it’s my investment,’” Kyle explained. “Because even now, Mau will share things like, ‘Oh, I’m making an investment and these investments,’ and I’m like, ‘What can I do on my own that I can feel good about?’ And I’ve always been good at real estate, you know. I’ve chosen the majority of our homes, and it’s always worked out well for me, business-wise.”
The recent purchase would be the second home Kyle bought on her own. “One’s in California, and one’s in Tennessee,” she continued, “and, you know, I feel pretty good about it.”
Kyle Richards discusses her passion for real estate
This might have been the first time Kyle publicly confirmed buying a home in Tennessee, but it’s not the first time she’s opened up about buying a new property. She confirmed as much when speaking to The Daily Dish while also admitting that her love of real estate was more than just a hobby.

“You know, people do stocks. They do other investments. Like, real estate is what I love,” she said. “I’m very passionate about it. It’s the first thing I do when I wake up in the morning. People think I am looking through my emails. No, I am looking at real estate all the time. I know every market of every state you could imagine.”
Does Kyle Richards plan on selling her home?
Responding to rumors that Kyle sold her Encino, California, home, she said in October that “just wasn’t true.” She remains at the primary residence with daughters Sophia Umansky and Portia Umansky, and their many fur babies. Mauricio, on the other hand, continues living in a house he leased after their initial period of separation. As Kyle clarified, ”I’m still here, my house is actually not for sale, and I don’t know where they come up with these things. But, yeah. I always wonder where these stories come from, but no. I did not sell my house.”
