The mom of four daughters shared details about her daughter Alexia Umansky’s new husband, adding that the wording was “just so funny” because “it sounds so adult.” But still, she couldn’t be happier about her first son-in-law since he married her second-eldest daughter in a glamorous September 2025 celebration in Los Angeles.

“You know, I never had a son, so he’s just so sweet,” Kyle continued in our exclusive interview with her over the BravoCon 2025 weekend in Las Vegas in November. “They’ve been best friends since they were in third grade, and I’ve known him forever, so it’s so nice to have him be a part of the family. He never passes by me without giving me a hug and saying, ‘I love you, Kyle.’ Every time he passes me. So, he’s just the sweetest.”

Kyle Richards’ daughter, Alexia Umansky, and Jake Zingerman’s relationship timeline

Alexia and Jake, as Kyle said, were once childhood friends. Soon after moving out of her parents’ Encino, California, home to live with Jake in 2024, the real estate agent and daughter of Mauricio Umansky responded to Instagram followers’ questions over how the two lovebirds met. She said they were “best friends” from elementary school through college.

“We got especially close in the 10th grade when we turned 16, got cars, and were able to drive around town,” she explained. “Every day was a fun adventure.”

Alexia cheekily shared that, due to her parents’ rules that boys couldn’t sleep over, she used to make Jake sleep outside in his car. But, as Alexia told People in September, they didn’t become romantic until 2019 for fear of damaging their friendship. As she put it, “It felt reckless to say I loved him because of all of the dynamics between our friend groups and how real our friendship was, and he really was my No. 1 best friend.”

The sweethearts became engaged in November 2024, and six months later, Alexia shared how fate led to their lifetime romance when posting about their engagement party on TikTok.

“The butterfly effect is crazy, because what do you mean my mom took me out of my elementary school in 2nd grade because my teachers put it on the chalk board that I got 0 votes when I ran for class president, so then she put me in the same elementary school that my dad went to, where in 3rd grade I met my best friends, including my now fiancé, and now 20 years later, we all danced together at our engagement party,” Alexia wrote.

Do Alexia Umansky and Jake Zingerman want children?

Alexia spoke to People about she and Jake possibly having children, and she said she was “excited” by the prospect of making Kyle and Mauricio first-time grandparents.

“[Jake]’s really looking forward to being a dad, as I am being a mom,” Alexia told the outlet. “I think I want to be married for about a year before we really start trying … But who knows what happens? Whatever happens, I’m welcoming it.”

See how the family continues to come together amid Kyle and Mauricio’s ongoing separation.
