Ever since Kyle Richards separated from Mauricio Umansky, she’s kept the details of her dating life under wraps — but that all changed during the second episode of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills Season 15.
During a candid backyard chat with Erika Jayne and again in a confessional, Kyle finally revealed she had been in a relationship after she and Mauricio announced their split in October 2023 — and why it ended.Â
“Since separating from Mau, I was in a relationship,” she admitted to a producer. “I was at a very vulnerable place in my life, and I fell hard for this person. You know, if I’m in love with somebody, I want to share that. I don’t care. I’m an open person like that. But that doesn’t mean that the person I’m with feels the same way.”

Kyle elaborated that endless questions about her love life, from her RHOBH castmates and the public alike, had, indeed, caused issues between her and the unnamed person she was dating.
“All the speculation and the gossip and the talking is what ultimately ended it,” Kyle explained. “I could’ve weathered the storm, but this is not for everyone.”
The mom of four also began telling a producer, “I think if this person weren’t so afraid of the public scrutiny and the life under a microscope…” but did not complete her statement.

Regardless, Kyle admitted to Erika that she could still “understand” why everyone seemed to be so curious about her love life.
“People think they’re owed an answer,” Kyle added. “If it [were] only me, I would give all the answers they want, but it’s not just about me.”
She attempted to frame the situation for Erika by asking, “If you were seeing someone that you cared very much about, that specifically says … ‘I’m not a part of this group, and you know, be respectful,’ would you betray that person, just because people are curious?”

Erika, for her part, responded by saying that she would “protect that person,” prompting Kyle to continue, “I’m always an honest person. You know, I’m not a liar. But, you know, I don’t know what people want from me. I’m single now, OK? You know, I was seeing someone I cared about very much.”
After Erika reassured Kyle that she had “been as forthcoming” as she could be, the “Pretty Mess” singer also reiterated, “It’s not just about you. There are two people here, not just one person.”
That’s when Kyle corrected Erika by using the past tense: “Well, there were [two people],” she replied. “It’s just been confusing.”

Elsewhere on RHOBH‘s Dec. 11 episode, Kyle had already reluctantly fielded questions from Mauricio about whether or not she’d been dating recently. After answering that she was “single” and had not “gone on any dates,” she quipped, “You know that I would not be in a situation like you, sorry to say.”
Kyle, of course, was lightheartedly referencing multiple instances of PDA paparazzi photos circulating that showed Mauricio with some of the women he had romanced over the past couple of years.
“Yes, I have dated since Mau and I have been separated,” Kyle added in a confessional, before drawing a distinction between her and her estranged husband. “But I can also be private and discreet, unlike Mau. We don’t need to see that of each other; our kids don’t need to see it. I don’t feel the need to parade around showing it off to everyone.”
