Kyle Richards and Erika Jayne go back much further than many people know. The pair first crossed paths at a 2010 holiday event in Los Angeles, about five years before Erika joined The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills cast (Season 6). Kyle and Erika have since established one of the closest friendships in the Bravo-verse, consistently supporting each other while navigating the ups and downs within their personal lives.
Fans got another glimpse at the tight bond on Thursday, July 10, when Kyle shared a heartwarming message in honor of Erika’s 54th trip around the sun.

“Happy birthday [Erika],” she captioned the Instagram post. “I hope this birthday brings you much deserved happiness and peace. I’m grateful to have you by my side through this wild ride we have been on for all these years. I appreciate and love you my friend!”
The carousel included photos of the besties’ most memorable moments together.
“Such great memories!” Erika replied in the comments section. “Thank you Kyle!”
Fans learned more about the friendship in August 2024, when Kyle declared Erika one of her biggest cheerleaders.
“She’s always been there for me and she’s always been a trustworthy friend and a big supporter,” Kyle said in an August 2024 Amazon Live stream. “So, I always appreciate her so much.”
Erika made similar comments during her March 2024 appearance on The Talk, explaining how she was championing Kyle amid her marital split with estranged husband, Mauricio Umansky.
“Kyle is a friend of mine on television and off television,” Erika said. “Look it’s hard… your life is entertainment and when your life breaks apart, it hurts double time. So of course, I’m just going to be there for her.”

The “Pretty Mess” singer also received birthday wishes from RHOBH alum Teddi Mellencamp, who is also her co-host on Diamonds in the Rough. Teddi shared pictures of her hugging and laughing with Erika, proving just how far they’ve come over the past few years.

“From pretend amnesia to an unforgettable friendship,” Teddi wrote, referring to their heated RHOBH Season 8 exchange. “Wishing you the happiest birthday [Erika]! Love you.”
Erika returned the kind words in the comments: “Love you Teddi,” she replied. “You’re the strongest person I know. Im so happy to have you in my life.”

RHOBH alum Lisa Rinna also acknowledged Erika’s special day on Instagram, pointing out that July was a “big birthday month” for their friend group. The post showed Rinna, whose birthday was on July 11, posing alongside Erika, Kyle, Teddi, and Dorit. Teddi’s birthday is July 1, and Dorit’s is July 14.
In honor of her birthday, Erika took to Instagram to share the cutest photo from her baby years. The picture showed the young Erika wearing a white eyelet piece as she rested her head on her hands.
“Im 54 today but inside Im still 16,” she captioned the July 10 throwback.
The post received thousands of comments, including some birthday wishes from Erika’s fellow Bravolebrities.
