Kyle Stillie Responds to Claim He Slept With Charter Guest

On Below Deck Season 12, Episode 11, Kyle Stillie faced Captain Kerry Titheradge to explain the allegation that he slept with a married charter guest named Helen, vehemently denying that anything happened between them. When a producer asked him to tell “the truth” of what really happened, however, the St. David deckhand struck a much different tone.

The twist was that Kyle started the rumor himself, repeatedly bragging to his fellow crew members that he and co-primary Helen had a brief sexual encounter in the sea during her group’s beach excursion. At the time, Helen was topless and had asked Kyle to act as her “flotation device” in the water.

As Kyle’s claim spread among the crew and appeared to have the potential of carrying serious consequences — including him potentially losing his job — he insisted to his castmates and Captain Kerry that he’d simply been joking, all along.

So, to cap off the August 11 episode, a producer attempted to get to the bottom of the discrepancies in his story and asked point-blank if the hookup claim was actually a joke.

“Was it a joke or…” Kyle coyly replied, raising his eyebrows and grinning mischievously.

Pressed further, he continued to smirk, shrugged his shoulders and simply responded, “Give Helen a call.”

What Kyle Stillie told Captain Kerry Titheradge happened with Helen

Kyle first claimed he “f–ked Helen in the water” while en route to his birthday dinner on Sint Maarten with Anthony Iracane, Hugo Ortega, and Solène Favreau, between charters. After a wild night out, he drunkenly repeated the allegation by the yacht’s hot tub in front of Damo Yorg, Fraser Olender, and Rainbeau de Roos.

Later, Damo expressed concern for Kyle to Fraser, who, after some reflection, worried that Captain Kerry would catch wind of the rumor, which could mean serious repercussions for all of them.

“I love this boy and I don’t want to see him going anywhere, but to be bragging about that is really, really reckless,” Fraser said. “So, he should be responsible for his own behavior.”

With “people’s jobs and livelihoods on the line,” Damo encouraged Kyle to get ahead of the situation and talk to Kerry himself.

During his one-on-one with the captain, Kyle explained, “You know me, I’m a bit of a loudmouth. I kind of say things without thinking sometimes. On the beach yesterday with the primary, we were rather close. Nothing did happen. But I’ve maybe said things that would suggest that something did happen…”

After revealing the NSFW comments he’d made, the Scotland native insisted, “Dead-set looking you in the eye, nothing happened at all. … I really hope you do believe me because genuinely nothing did happen. But I understand your position.”

Pointing out that the “boat has a reputation,” Captain Kerry responded by telling Kyle that he needed to “chat with the crew” first and gather more information before he made any decisions on how to proceed.

“Are you f–king kidding me? Why would you make up a story like that?” Kerry added in a confessional. “My immediate reaction is, ‘You’re full of s–t and you’re lying to me.’ This is unacceptable. I need to investigate this further, and if he did it, he deserves to leave the vessel.”

Did Kyle Stillie get fired on Below Deck Season 12?

After interviewing, Damo, Fraser, Hugo, and Rainbeau, Captain Kerry decided not to fire Kyle.

“Everyone I’ve spoken to thinks you’re full of s–t, that you were just talking s–t,” he told him, before asking one final time, “Did you do it?”

“I definitely didn’t do it, no,” Kyle doubled down. “100 percent, dead straight in the eye, I did not do it, Cap.”

As Kerry concluded, “With the evidence I have, I want you to stay. But pull your head in [and] get the job done. I don’t want you that close to guests anymore.”

He further explained his decision in a confessional, adding, “I can’t fire the guy on a hunch. He can be reprimanded, but at the end of the day, everyone says to me they don’t believe it, they didn’t see anything. And I can’t prove it. What can I do?”
