As the countdown to Christmas entered its final stretch, The Valley cast member shared the cute holiday custom she had passed down to her daughter Ocean Kent Emmett.
“I often get asked about my family’s Christmas traditions,” Lala wrote in a December 19 Instagram Reel. “Elmer the Elf visited [her brother Easton Burningham] and me as kids, and now he visits Ocean. This morning, he decided to make a big mess for mama to clean up. Except this time, for the first time, Ocean offered to help me.”

The video began with the 4-year-old girl making her way to the kitchen island, where the elf doll was placed on a pile of flour.
“Look at that, he made a snow angel,” Lala told Ocean. “He made a big mess for mom to clean up. Look at what he did!”

Ocean picked up the doll and gave it a little dust off.
“And look, he wrote you a note,” Lala continued. “He said, ‘Dear Ocean: ‘Thank you for saying sorry. Remember to be kind and listen to your family. I love you.’ Remember? Because you apologized to him last night.”

Lala then directed Ocean’s attention to a small gift bag next to Elmer. Ocean climbed on top of a barstool, reached into the bag, and pulled out a little container of lip scrub.
“Oh my gosh. You’re so lucky! You may have to share with mom,” Lala said about the early Christmas present.
“I’m not sharing,” Ocean replied.
“You’re not sharing?” Lala asked.” I’m sure Elmer won’t love that, especially after he told you to be kind to everybody.”
Ocean smiled and immediately walked back her comment.

“Fine. I’ll share,” she said. “I guess I’ll have to go clean this up.”
Lala was seemingly in disbelief.

“You’re gonna clean up? I’ve never seen her clean anything in my life,” Lala said with a laugh. “This is new.”
Ocean proceeded to gather the flour using her hand as Lala held up a trash bin.
“Why did he do this?” the little girl asked before letting out a sigh. “Elmer, Elmer.”
2025 will mark Lala’s second holiday season as a mother of two. The Vanderpump Rules alum welcomed her second daughter, Sosa Kent, on September 3, 2024, just a day after her 35th birthday. Find out if the former SUR hostess plans on expanding her family with baby No. 3.
