While reminiscing about her Vanderpump Rules days, Lala Kent shared some surprising but very kind words about Katie Maloney.
Lala reflected on the rocky relationship during her December 16 Amazon Live stream, when a viewer asked which of her former castmates she “miss[ed] filming with the most.” Lala began with a diplomatic answer, insisting she liked sharing the screen “with the entire cast,” but found filming with Katie to be particularly enjoyable, as their friendship went beyond the cameras.
Lala Kent on what it was like filming with “best friend” Katie Maloney
“[With] her being my best friend, it didn’t feel like we were making a show,” Lala said about her fellow Vanderpump Rules alum. “It just felt like we were hanging out and, ‘Oh, hi, there happens to be a camera.’ Everything that the show would show, it was our everyday [life]. Even when cameras were down. The back-and-forth and the dynamics were so authentic. I miss it so much. I really do.”

Lala’s brother, Easton Burningham, co-signed the comments.
“I also thought Katie,” he said from behind the camera. “Because me and her would go out to the bar, here and there.”
“Oh yeah. If I didn’t want to go out, Easton and Katie would go,” Lala replied.
“I miss Katie,” Easton added. “Katie was a good one.”
Lala Kent reflects on her “cat-and-mouse” dynamic with Tom Sandoval
Lala said she “had a wonderful time filming with” all of her former castmates because 1) They knew “how to make a good show,” and 2) Their relationships were authentic.
“Just the dynamic between everybody — like, my back-and-forth with Tom [Sandoval] and how, yes, there was love there, but me and Tom Sandoval could not stand each other. It was like we were always at each other’s throats. It became this back-and-forth, cat-and-mouse [situation] that I really started to enjoy. Is that the most toxic thing you’ve ever heard?”

Lala Kent explains what may have led to her & Katie Maloney’s fallout
The Vanderpump Rules Season 11 reunion marked the last time Lala and Katie appeared on screen together. The two went head-to-head during the three-part sitdown, with Lala accusing Katie of acting differently on and off camera. Lala explained her frustrations on the Vanderpump Rules After Show.
“I think we were at odds because from my point of view, she was not very honest this season, and I don’t recognize that Katie,” Lala said. “The reason why she and I really freaking connect is because we are no bullsh-t. You may not like what comes out of our mouths; it may be harsh or aggressive, but it is what it is.”
Lala Kent reveals she tried burying the hatchet with Katie Maloney
Fast-forward to October 2025, when Lala revealed she had tried to make amends with Katie. She shared the update during an episode of her Untraditionally Lala podcast with special guest Tom Schwartz. Lala told her fellow Vanderpump Rules alum she had not spoken to Katie in more than a year, but felt it was time to bury the hatchet.
“Just with the changes that I’ve wanted to make in my life and take ownership, I felt it was necessary that she knew that I was sorry for the way things went down,” Lala told Katie’s ex-husband, Tom Schwartz. “And I didn’t expect a text back… So you have to say, ‘If I get no response or it’s not accepted, can I move on still and feel OK?’ And I got to that point.”
