Lala Kent didn’t allow a rainy day to dampen her spirits. In fact, she reveled in it.
On Tuesday, October 14, the Vanderpump Rules alum returned to Instagram with another glimpse at her family’s backyard. And, we have to say, the space still looked pretty dreamy even on an overcast day.
“Cancel everything,” Lala captioned the Story. “I’m so happy.”
Lala Kent shares an update on daughter Ocean’s mini pumpkin patch
The photo captured the morning rainfall on Lala’s outdoor patio set and full-size pool. Her next-level guest house was seen in the backdrop, surrounded by lush trees, various shrubs, and what was supposed to be a mini-pumpkin patch. The former SUR hostess showed off the latter in a recent Instagram post, saying she and her 4-year-old daughter, Ocean Kent Emmett, attempted to grow their own pumpkins this season, but didn’t realize they had only purchased male pumpkin plants.

“We tried… key word TRIED, to grow our own pumpkins,” she captioned the post. “But even in the pumpkin world, men are worthless (kidding). We had all male. Zero female. Which meant no pumpkins.
“So we bought a pumpkin, put it in the basket, & BAM,” Lala continued. “Ocean got the feeling of taking care of seeds that grew into her future Jack-o’-lantern.”
The video showed Ocean walking past the pool toward a cloth planter, where Lala secretly placed a small pumpkin between the leaves.
“No way!” Lala told her little girl. “Ocean, you just grew a pumpkin!”
Ocean immediately picked up the fruit and took it inside to show it off.
“You guys, you wanna see what I have in my hand?” she shouted as she walked into the living room. “Should I make a jack-o’-lantern? I think I should, too.”
Lala Kent is “obsessed” with living in the Valley
Lala purchased her San Fernando Valley home in early 2024, months before giving birth to her second daughter, Sosa Kent. The Utah native has since shared regular peeks at her backyard oasis, which also includes a lounge area and half-size basketball court.
She spoke about her new digs in a previous interview with Forbes magazine, insisting she had become “pretty obsessed” with the Valley.
“You have to have such a large budget to be anywhere else in Los Angeles County and still be able to commute over the hill into the city!” she explained. “The house was renovated, not a teardown — they kept some walls, but everything else is brand new besides the structure.”
Lala Kent recalls her first reaction to her family’s home
Lala said her Valley home was built in 1947 and features five bedrooms and three-and-a-half bathrooms.

“The moment I walked in, after seeing so many homes, something about this one just stole my heart,” she recalled. “I couldn’t pinpoint exactly what it was, but I immediately pictured my kids playing here, hosting people by the pool. In other homes, as beautiful as they were, I just couldn’t see those moments. Even before [my daughter] Sosa arrived, I could already imagine what she would look like in this home.”
In addition to her San Fernando Valley home, Lala also owns a Palm Springs vacation house. Get a look at the “sanctuary” property.
