Lala Kent Shares a Health Update After Pre-Cancer Eye Diagnosis

Vanderpump Rules alum Lala Kent has some good news to report in the months following her pre-cancer diagnosis in her eye.

The mom of two, now joining The Valley for its third season, gave The Daily Dish the latest about her precancerous eye abnormality and chemotherapy treatment. Following her August report that eye specialists “cleared [her]” after three rounds of “topical chemo,” the outcome remains overwhelmingly optimistic for what Lala called a “very, very rare” diagnosis, and she shared new details about the condition.

“I had just noticed, like, a discoloration on my eye, and then it almost started looking like a blister,” she exclusively told The Daily Dish during BravoCon 2025. “I went into the eye doctor thinking it was something that I had Googled. And they said, ‘That’s pre-cancer, and we need to, like, take care of this immediately before it affects your vision.’ I did three rounds of chemo drops, and now I see my doctor every four months.”

“I’m just so thankful that I was proactive about having it looked at,” she continued in her exclusive chat with us this month.

Lala Kent opens up about her pre-cancer diagnosis

Lala has used social media to keep her followers apprised of her health journey beginning in May, including up-close-and-personal shots of the growth-like anomaly on the white of her right eye. She described first seeking the help of an optometrist who she said misdiagnosed her with an “inflamed pinguecula.” As Lala explained on the July 14 episode of her former podcast, Give Them Lala now Untraditionally Lala the ruling was a “callus”-like result from “sun exposure, dust, [and] wind” and the outdoor elements.

A second opinion from an ophthalmologist found it to be pre-cancer. They immediately prescribed Lala with chemotherapy eye drops.

“It’s a topical chemo,” Lala said on her podcast. “It’s called 5-FU and they paired it with Lotemax, which is a steroid… I had to do, or have to do those, I’m not done yet, three rounds. A week on, three weeks off, and in that time, I see my ophthalmologist twice.”

Lala Kent shares her gratitude once cleared by doctors

On Aug. 5, a couple of weeks after her final dose, Lala reported on her Instagram Stories that docs were “thrilled” with the results. “God willing that it just stays good,” she said.

Of her treatment, “I finished those maybe a couple of weeks ago, and I went to the eye doc yesterday, and of course, you know, I’m living in the ‘what-if,’ love talking about the ‘what-if.’ The Virgo in me is like, ‘Let’s try crossing this bridge before we even get to it.’”

Anxieties aside, she was delighted by the news. “I felt an overwhelming amount of gratitude, and just happiness, and peace,” she said. Per her August update, Lala’s visits will eventually decrease to six-month and yearly checkups.
