Lala Kent closed out her birthday week with an epic bash… that wasn’t for her.
Just a day after Lala turned 35 (September 2), her baby girl, Sosa Kent, officially became 12 months old. The Vanderpump Rules alum celebrated the milestone by throwing the cutest party at her family’s $3 million Valley home.
Lala first teased the event during an August 26 Amazon Live stream, explaining how her 4-year-old daughter, Ocean Kent Emmett, was involved in the party planning.

“Ocean helped me pick out all of these goods,” Lala said. “I love that Ocean is the one that said she wanted to throw a first birthday that was silly goose [themed]. I’m like, ‘Silly goose? That’s so cute.’ And she goes, ‘Yeah, remember? My costume that I had on when you took me trick-or-treating.’ I was like, ‘I’m so dead. How do you have that memory still?’”

Lala marked Sosa’s actual birthday (September 3) with a small at-home family get-together, and then hosted a larger party on Saturday, September 6. As seen on Lala’s Instagram Stories, the event was primarily held in her backyard, where a team set up several white picnic tables adorned with pastel flower arrangements, light pink dishware, and matching cups.
Behind the tables was a beautiful pink backdrop where guests could snap a few photos. The structure was adorned with pink, purple, blue, and yellow balloons and a sign that read, “Isn’t she lovely, isn’t she onederful.”

The party’s color scheme also appeared in the selection of custom macrons, some of which were decorated with Sosa’s adorable portrait.
Guests — which included The Valley’s Michelle Saniei and Janet Caperna — were also treated to a full taco bar, complete with different protein options, a wide range of toppings, and sides of rice.
But it wouldn’t be a birthday party without cake. Lala showed off the elaborate three-tier dessert in several Instagram Stories before guests dug in. The cake was covered with white frosting as well as colorful flower designs and butterfly appliqués.
Lala Kent reflects on daughter Sosa’s latest milestone: “I cry a lot…”
Hours after the party wrapped, Lala returned to Instagram to offer a quick recap. Although she described the event as the “most beautiful first birthday,” Lala admitted the day was both exhausting and emotional.

“This is a face of a very tired momma,” she said. “I cry a lot. There’s a lot of mom guilt happening. I’ve had to miss drop-off, pick-up… But today was excellent. My cup is so full… the babes are in bed and I’m gonna try to get some rest because these eyes are screaming, ‘Go to bed! And stop beating yourself up over every detail of life.’”
Lala reflected on Sosa’s milestone in the aforementioned Amazon Live stream, saying it completely overshadowed her own birthday.
“I actually forgot it was my birthday because I’m so fixated on the fact that it’s Sosa’s first birthday,” she explained. “I feel like, now, my birthday actually represents the day that I prepared to give birth to Sosa. She was supposed to come on the 1st. I really wanted her to come on the 2nd, but she’s a star. She’s like, ‘I’m not sharing a birthday with my mom!’ Can you imagine? If history repeats itself in how close I am with my mom, she would really be glued to my hip. Every year, I’d be calling her asking how we were gonna celebrate our birthdays.”
