Lilly, the beloved dog of Vanderpump Rules’ Lala Kent and her family, has sadly passed away.
The mom of two shared the “heartbreaking” news on Oct. 22, which also happened to be the day of Lala’s seven-year sobriety anniversary. Alongside more than a dozen photos and videos of Lilly’s special moments with Lala and her daughters, 4-year-old Ocean Kent Emmett and 1-year-old Sosa Kent, Lala captioned with the Instagram post that she had to “make peace with letting Lilly go.”
“I don’t even know where to begin. I just want to thank her,” Lala wrote. “She loved me unconditionally. She was there when I couldn’t get out of bed. There when I got sober. There when I became a mom. She was my soulmate. I feel like I blinked and my time was up with her.”
Lala went on to share the impact Lilly had on her life after she adopted the rescue pup 14 years ago: “Today she takes a piece of my heart with her. I will miss her dearly. Lilly, without you my journey would not be so beautiful. Without you I would not be able to celebrate 7 years of sobriety. I feel blessed to have had you. Rest in puppy paradise, sweet girl.”
Bravolebs far and wide came together to send their condolences, including Lala’s friends from The Valley, Brittany Cartwright, Michelle Saniei, and VPR cast mates Scheana Shay and Tom Schwartz. Others included The Real Housewives of New York City’s Brynn Whitfield, The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City’s Angie Katsanevas, and VPR producer Alex Baskin.
What to know about Lala Kent’s dog, Lilly
Lilly has played a massive role in Lala’s life for a long time, including in 2021 when the fur mom shared a “girl power” snap of Lilly and baby Ocean. Earlier this year, she was there for Sosa’s fast-approaching milestones.

Lilly was so special that the former SUR hostess and Give Them Lala beauty founder had the dog’s name tattooed on her right ankle.
In a July 13, 2023, Instagram post, Lala explained she adopted the pup in 2011, stating, “My loves, I’m so excited to be emceeing this year’s Humane Society of Utah gala. This organization is near and dear to my heart — it’s where I adopted the love of my life, Lilly, 12 years ago.”
Last year, Lala went on a “dream date” with 1-year-old Goofy, a pit bull abandoned at a local park. The meet-up was a fun initiative by The Dodo — a media brand with a focus on animals — to raise awareness for pet adoption. Goofy even joined Lala in the studio for her Give Them Lala podcast, which the Bravoleb has since rebranded as Untraditionally Lala.
She explained in the April 2024 interview with The Dodo that she had two rescue pit bulls back home, too.

Then pregnant with Sosa, Lala said of Lilly, “I feel like Lilly always senses when I’m pregnant. Because, with my first baby — her name is Ocean, she’s 3 — she was very, very delicate with me. But then once the baby came home, she got jealous.”

When Ocean — whom Lala shares with ex-fiancé and film producer, Randall Emmett — isn’t adorably getting into “big trouble” for saying “bad words” on her Vlog, Lala has much to cherish regarding her two daughters.
Ocean even helped Lala plan Sosa’s special first birthday last month. Ahead of the younger girl’s big day, Lala explained during an Aug. 26 Amazon Live stream, “I love that Ocean is the one that said she wanted to throw a first birthday that was silly goose [themed]. I’m like, ‘Silly goose? That’s so cute.’ And she goes, ‘Yeah, remember? My costume that I had on when you took me trick-or-treating.’ I was like, ‘I’m so dead. How do you have that memory still?’”
