‘Last Comic Standing’ Winner Indicted on Sexual Exploitation of a Minor – Crime Online

A North Carolina grand jury indicted the 2007 winner of NBC’s “Last Comic Standing” on September 2, on multiple counts of sexual exploitation of a minor.

WSOC reported that on Friday, following an Internet Crimes Against Children cyber tip on April 15, police arrested comedian Jon Reep in Hickory after the indictment.

Police traced the tip, which involved child sexual abuse material, to an account belonging to the 53-year-old comedian. A subsequent search warrant led to the seizure of electronic devices, and a digital forensic analysis was conducted.

A Catawba County Grand Jury issued a true bill indictment for one count of second-degree sexual exploitation of a minor, and an additional nine counts of third-degree sexual exploitation of a minor.

Reep, a well-known comedian from Hickory, has appeared on multiple shows since his 2007 win, such as HBO’s “Eastbound & Down” and “Curb Your Enthusiasm,” and Netflix’s “Brad Paisley’s Comedy Rodeo,”

He was also in a standup special, “Ginger Beard Man” on Amazon Prime, according to WTVY.

Reep was released on bond after appearing before a magistrate in Newton. His scheduled North Carolina comedy show in Goldsboro on Friday was postponed.

According to WTVY, Reep’s Alabama comedy show at the Dothan Opera House has also been cancelled.
