Summer House’s Lindsay Hubbard just gave fans a major update on life with her daughter, Gemma Britt Kufe.
In an Instagram Story shared on July 28, Lindsay revealed that the almost 7-month-old (whom she co-parents with her ex-boyfriend, Turner Kufe) is progressing from liquids only to soft foods, including bananas! However, the feat hasn’t come without its hitches, as Lindsay pointed out in her caption.
“Since Gemma is eating more solids now, and especially fruit, we’ve been getting a lot of fruit flies,” the career influencer told her nearly 800,000 Instagram followers. “But mama said not on my watch.”
Lindsay then showed that she “set up a little trap” to catch the pests and was pleasantly surprised to see results in just a couple of days.
“What the f**k?” she said as the video showed hundreds of fruit flies trapped at the bottoms of two drinking glasses. In another photo, she confessed, “I honestly can’t believe it worked, and not only did it work … it worked fast!”

Finally, Lindsay graciously shared the recipe she used: a “classic” tried-and-true fly-baiting method utilizing items available in most homes, courtesy of The Kitchn. Although the recipe called for wine bottles, jars, and parchment paper, Lindsay gave it her own spin using the glasses she had at hand.
“I used plastic wrap and pierced it with small holes using a skewer,” she added.
How Lindsay Hubbard is settling into her new home
ICYMI, Lindsay and Gemma recently moved into a new apartment in New York City. Although the move began as “kind of a disaster trying to figure everything out,” Lindsay did post “an apartment update” to show that she and her daughter were one step closer to making the most of their new home.
One item crossed off her list was getting rid of the grand piano she never asked for, left by the previous residents and limiting space for Gemma’s potential play area.

But that wasn’t all.
“Most importantly, we hung the mirror so no baby accidents!,” she said.
Between the apartment’s expansive eat-in kitchen and enviable dining area, the fruit fly population is expected to stay down … as long as Lindsay has anything to do with it.
