Despite Lisa Barlow making it crystal clear that she only travels first class, her castmates were still surprised that she failed to show up for the RV trip on The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City Season 6 premiere. So, where was she?
The answer, it turns out, is a little complicated. Initially, Angie told the group, “[Lisa] was kind of not very clear. She said she had some work going on, so she was going to go out of town.”
But that wasn’t quite the whole story. In a confessional interview, Heather Gay reminded viewers of the ever-changing status of the RHOSLC friendships, explaining, “And then there’s Angie, Whitney [Rose] and especially Bronwyn [Newport] who are all not getting along with Lisa right now.”
From there, producers flashed back to a call between Angie and Lisa that occurred five days prior to the trip.
“I don’t want to spend the night with Bronwyn,” Lisa stated on the FaceTime call. “She’s a pathological liar. She can’t tell the truth to save her life. It’s disgusting.”
To be fair, Lisa did add that she also had “a work thing” that interfered with the trip. “It’s a big deal. I think what people forget is I have a very full life, because I keep it kinda private. And like, I’m not gonna drop names, but I’ll be with Ben and Blake,” Lisa told Angie, as producers flashed pictures of actors Blake Lively and Ben Affleck on the screen. “I’ll be with Ben Affleck, and you’ll be with Bronwyn.”
Meredith Marks sheds new light on Lisa’s decision to skip the RV trip
Meredith Marks, for her part, understood why Lisa didn’t show up. As she told The Daily Dish in an exclusive interview ahead of the Season 6 premiere, “I mean, I was sad that she wasn’t there, because it’s fun to be with her and have her company, but we all work and we all have different things going on. You can’t be everywhere at once.”
“She had another obligation, and I understand it,” Meredith added. “I wasn’t upset or angry about it, I just was disappointed that we didn’t have her with us.”

The RHOSLC cast reacts to Lisa Barlow missing the cast trip
Angie, however, confessed to the ‘Wives that Lisa’s absence on the Sept. 16 episode might have been influenced by factors other than work. She shared, “I wasn’t very clear if it really was work, or if it was more the fact that Bronwyn was coming on the trip. And we invited everyone.”
Although Whitney expressed doubts about the work excuse, Britani Bateman chimed in, “I talked to her. She was definitely working. She has a huge work thing.”
Heather, meanwhile, pointed out that “it’s not like [Lisa] to not be here,” and Mary Cosby agreed, adding, “Right. She doesn’t miss.”
“When someone plans a girls trip, you go,” Heather added in her confessional. “When you don’t go, it’s to make a statement, you know? Like, we would have rearranged the trip around her schedule, I’m sure. It just seems like a way for her to say, ‘I’m not sure I’m into you guys as much as you’re into me.’”
Whitney and Bronwyn had other theories, though — including one that involved potential legal issues. As the latter put it, “It’s interesting timing for Lisa to be ‘too busy’ to go on a free girls trip. I mean, maybe she’s ‘too busy’ reading about herself in the press. With all of her lawsuits, it’s just very convenient timing for Lisa’s schedule to be ‘maxed out.’”
What’s to come for Lisa Barlow on RHOSLC Season 6
Brownyn isn’t the only cast member expected to have issues with Lisa during Season 6. The official announcement for the new season teases that Heather’s “rift” with Lisa “continues to grow,” and the pair can be seen arguing in the trailer, too.
Elsewhere in the Season 6 announcement, Lisa is said to be “in hot water when she lands in the middle of the group’s gossip. Her friendships are put to the test over swirling rumors, leaked information and and…even hair products.”

But Lisa will also face tension in her own home with her husband, John Barlow. The announcement reads, “After an insightful psychic reading illuminates cracks in Lisa and John’s marriage, the couple is forced to confront communication issues.”
