Lisa Barlow is still reeling from the tough conversations she and husband John Barlow had about their marriage on The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City Season 6.
During RHOSLC‘s supersized Reunion Part 3, host Andy Cohen read a viewer-submitted question about “what’s really going on” in Lisa and John’s marriage. The same person had also suggested that John seemed to want to “embarrass” Lisa on camera.Â
“It was a really long, hard-hitting conversation for both of us,” Lisa responded, before breaking into tears. “There are times where I feel completely undervalued. When I watched it back, I cried for two days.”

When Andy asked her to elaborate, Lisa added, “I was like, ‘I don’t even want to be near you. I don’t want you talking to me, because I just feel hurt.’ Because how does everything get done if I don’t listen? How does Henry get everything at school he needs? How does Jack get care packages? How do you have all your shirts cleaned, all your suits done?'”

The Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen host, meanwhile, remarked that RHOSLC viewers thought that Lisa had “an issue with taking accountability and listening,” before pointing out that John seemed to be similarly “trying to express” that she doesn’t actually “hear him” when he speaks to her.
“He did say that,” Lisa acknowledged. “He knows that I know that, and I’ve made very concerted efforts. We’ve been together for a very long time. There’s times I can finish his sentence, finish his thoughts, and he doesn’t even have to finish, and he knows, like, ‘Oh, Lisa’s got me.’Â We’re business partners, we’re parents together, we’re best friends, and we’re in love.”

That being said, she continued, “I think that the bottom line is, like, he knows damn well that I really work hard on listening to him. And I think, for me, it felt really jabby for him to say that, when he knows I work really hard to listen to him. He took that opportunity to jab, and it hurt. And I said to him, too — I’m just gonna be really transparent — I said to him, ‘I would die before I’d make you look bad. You just made me look horrible on things that you know hurt me.'”
When Andy asked if she was referring to their RHOSLC scene, Lisa replied, “Yes… He broke my heart.”

After her emotional, “spot-on” psychic reading at Whitney Rose’s lunch during Episode 5, Lisa admitted that she and John had been “on different pages” for quite some time.
“There’s not a specific catalyst for this,” she explained to a producer in an Episode 6 confessional. “It’s been going on since we got married, and it’s because there’s blurred lines between business, family, and marriage. Like, I manage the entire house, plus I work.”
Later in the same episode, Lisa sat down with John and debriefed him on how Whitney’s psychic had picked up on the cracks in their marriage, including some “communication problems” that she agreed they were experiencing. Lisa also said that she felt “taken for granted” in their marriage.
John, for his part, chimed in, “We aren’t on the same page because I don’t think you want to hear what I have to say, because you’re already in your head thinking that you’re right.”
The topic arose again during a subsequent sit-down between Lisa and John during Episode 10. Among other sticking points, Lisa called out John for “undermining” her during a recent parenting-related dispute involving their 14-year-old son, Henry, for example.
“It’s not about one specific instance or one specific thing,” she elaborated in a confessional. “Lately, in our marriage, I feel invisible. … I think what hurts me is I didn’t feel validated in my feelings.”
As John put it to Lisa, “Sometimes you don’t listen,” but she fired back, “You guys always put that on me, but I feel like I’m a good listener.”
