Lisa Hochstein Makes Shocking Declaration on Future With Jody

How to Watch

The Real Housewives of Miami After Show airs on Thursdays. Watch on BravoTV.com or Peacock.

The Real Housewives of Miami‘s Lisa Hochstein dropped some not-so-subtle hints to push boyfriend Jody Glidden toward a proposal during Season 7, Episode 14. On The Real Housewives of Miami After Show, however, she took a much more direct approach, admitting to a producer, “If I don’t have a ring eventually, then there’s no future.”

After Jody previously confessed that it would be difficult for him to foresee their relationship going the distance without the help of a licensed therapist, Lisa added on the RHOM After Show that she heard him “very loud and clear.”

As she put it, “I’m open to growth. He has good intentions. And I really do believe everyone can benefit from therapy.”

Then, looking directly into the camera, she said, “Jody, I’m in therapy now. Where’s my ring?”

That’s not to say Lisa is necessarily in a hurry to walk down the aisle, though.

“I don’t even know if I want to get married,” she revealed to castmates Guerdy Abraira and Adriana de Moura, citing how “hard” marriage is. “But I want to get engaged. I don’t want to be a girlfriend; I want to be a fiancée.”

Why Jody Glidden is hesitant about getting engaged to Lisa Hochstein

On the heels of Lisa’s announcement that she and ex-husband Lenny Hochstein had officially finalized their divorce, Jody said on RHOM‘s Sept. 4 episode that he was “relieved,” but anticipated some of their relationship issues would continue, nonetheless.

“I really do need some of the drama to go down,” he explained to Lisa. “It used to be that almost all of the drama came from the divorce. And, lately, it’s been maybe half divorce and half the friends. And that’s just overwhelming.”

More specifically, Jody was referring to an ongoing feud involving her onetime bestie, Larsa Pippen.

“Being in any relationship is tough, but being in this relationship is really, really tough,” Jody elaborated in a confessional, citing non-stop “attacks” against them. “The latest one with Larsa was targeted at me. And it causes us to fight to the point where I have to sleep in another room sometimes because we’re fighting so bad.”

So, in addition to suggesting some counseling sessions, Jody also advised Lisa to put the Larsa drama “to bed.” As she assured him, “Whatever I can do to make it stop, I’ll do it.”

What Lisa Hochstein said to Jody Glidden about proposing

Earlier in the episode, Lisa also used her and Lenny’s newly finalized divorce to broach the subject of a potential proposal with Jody.

“It feels weird that I’m not a Mrs. anymore,” she told her boyfriend of three years. “I don’t like not being a Mrs. I’m happy it’s not to that person, but in general, I like being a Mrs.”

Pointing to where her engagement ring used to be on her hand, Lisa continued, “This finger feels really empty. It feels like, bare.”

However, Jody did little more than nod, before eventually responding, “Yeah, well, we’ll look at that.”

Lisa, meanwhile, still appeared unready to table the conversation so quickly, adding, “Anyway, I’m not in a rush anyway, to get married. … I only want to get married to someone that wants to be married to me.”
