Lisa Hochstein’s fellow ‘Wives believe she’s living up to her Season 7 tagline: “I may not be prompt, but I’m worth the wait.” The Real Housewives of Miami ladies flew to Seville, Spain for a girls trip in Episode 10, minus Lisa, but now she’s explaining her late arrival on The Real Housewives of Miami After Show.
“So my journey was very interesting,” Lisa said in the video above. “I got to the airport with one minute to spare. And whoever you are, lady at that counter—because I took her name down— she goes, ‘Sorry, no.’ I go, ‘There’s one minute! Check the bags!’”
Lisa explained that she was “panicking”, and that her boyfriend Jody Glidden was a witness to the fact that the representative “wouldn’t check the bags.”
“And I’m like, ‘I don’t care, put the bags on another flight. Get me in.’ Because I could still go,” Lisa added. “She walked away. So then we did everything we could, and I got another flight. I got there the same night.”
Lisa Hochstein reveals another obstacle in her travel journey to Spain
Although Lisa’s change of travel plans to Spain didn’t include “dragons” as she joked on the After Show, it did include more planes, a layover, and a train. Producers shared during Episode 10 Lisa ended up catching a flight from Miami to London, then a flight from London to Madrid, then a train from Madrid to Seville. In all, she traveled for 23 hours and 47 minutes—but she pointed out she nearly didn’t get to Seville.
“I had to go on a train. And I don’t take trains,” she revealed on the After Show, to laughs from Guerdy Abraira and Adriana De Moura. “If I’m going on a train, there’s no jewelry, there’s no bags. And I had like three bags. And all my jewelry. I was terrified.”

Lisa admitted she also ran into a problem when she was unable to speak Spanish.
“Then I’m asking people directions,” Lisa explained. “And they’re like, ‘No, I don’t speak English, only speak Español.’”
The RHOM cast reacts to Lisa’s late arrival to the Spain trip
Although Lisa confessed during Episode 10 she felt like she “didn’t hurt anybody” by being late, some of the Housewives felt differently.
Alexia Nepola called it “rude and disrespectful,” but was mainly upset about the lack of communication.
“I love that Lisa is safe. But I would have really appreciated if she would have sent us a text saying that she was not going to make that flight, and she was going to get on another flight,” Alexia explained during Episode 10. “But just not saying anything had us really worried.”
Kiki Barth echoed similar sentiments during the After Show, slamming Lisa’s frequent tardiness. “I think it’s a lack of respect at this point,” she said. “Because when you do something so many times…”

Julia Lemigova believed she and Marysol Patton, as the hostesses of the trip, should have heard from Lisa when she initally missed the flight.
“I’m not going to give Lisa a pass,” Julia said during the episode. “When you’re late, to your friends, who worked so hard to organize a trip, out of common courtesy, a simple message would be the right thing to do. But she didn’t do it.”
Marysol agreed on the After Show: “I wasn’t mad, but she could have said, ‘Hey, I missed the flight, I’m late.’ She didn’t say anything.”
But Lisa argued she did communicate what happened. “I did check in with Alexia, and I have all the texts to prove it,” she said on the After Show.
But Larsa Pippen and Stephanie Shojaee argued they all should have been kept in the loop on Lisa’s travel plans.
“We’re in a group text, she could easily say, ‘Hey guys I’m sorry I missed my flight. I’ll keep you posted on my whereabouts,’” Larsa pointed out on the After Show, while Stephanie added, “Nothing. Nothing. Crickets.”
Don’t miss Lisa’s update on co-parenting with Lenny Hochstein now that they’re “officially divorced.”
