Lisa Rinna is sharing the details from a “cautionary tale” involving her and Harry Hamlin’s youngest daughter, Amelia Gray Hamlin. The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills alum and her husband recently detailed a past health scare involving their model daughter and how they navigated that chapter.
Lisa and Harry took to their podcast on Sept. 5, where Lisa revealed to Harry that “in the teenage years…when everyone was like 19-ish, there was some nipple piercing going on” for Amelia and her older sister, Delilah Belle Hamlin. Lisa went on to share the scary story that happened with “Miss Amelia at Coachella.”
“Amelia had a nipple piercing somewhere. I don’t know if it was both; it was probably both. And they were at Coachella, and ironically, she was at a party where Erika Jayne was DJing,” she explained. “It’s a true story.”
“And she was like, up on a balcony, somebody pushed her, kind of like, pushing forward, and her boob went into a bush and it like, jammed the nipple into the boob, and then she came home that night, and all of a sudden, she had a super high fever…and we did not know what to do,” she continued.

Lisa admitted that they had brought her to the hospital, where she got an X-ray and saw an infectious disease doctor. “She had sepsis. Sepsis in her fricking boob,” she said.Â
“She punctured something when she went into the bush,” Lisa added. “She had sepsis and had to be on IV antibiotics for a week. No, it was actually very dangerous, guys, it was dangerous.”
“So there’s another cautionary tale. Don’t get a nipple ring,” Harry said.

As fans know, Lisa is always so supportive of her daughter’s modeling career. And, Amelia, now 24, is very grateful for her well-known parents. She appeared on the podcast, The Run Through with Vogue, in March 2025, where she opened up about her success in modeling, while acknowledging her parents, who are famous actors.
She revealed that she achieved one of her dreams when she walked in a haute couture fashion show in 2023. “But that being said, I think there were dreams that almost felt too far away, if that makes sense,” she said. “I’m very well aware of the fact that I’m a nepo baby, and I’m extremely grateful for that. I’m aware of everything that I am, but couture was just never something I thought I would be accepted into.”

“My dad always said, ‘If you love what you do, you’ll never work a day in your life,” she added.

She continued, opening up about her relationship with Lisa. “She’s my BFF,” she explained. “I am so grateful to have her as a mother in this life. And I truly do believe that I chose her…I chose this woman to be my mom. But side note, my dad doesn’t get enough credit and he’s great, too.”
