When The Real Housewives of Rhode Island cast talks about the importance of family, they really mean it. Take, for instance, Liz McGraw, who introduces herself by revealing that she and her husband, Gerry McGraw, were related before they got married.
As Liz explains in a new preview of the RHORI series premiere (airing on Thursday, April 2, at 9 p.m. ET/PT), “Gerry and I were married about six months, and that was when, you know, the whole Ancestry DNA thing was blowing up. I mean, if you look at Gerry and you look at me, no one’s ever gonna say we’re related — but we are related, somewhere down the line.”

Following a brief look at Liz’s home in Cranston, R.I., where she and Gerry live with their cat, Ganji, the sneak peek cuts to them at a family dinner. With at least two of her three adult stepdaughters — Miranda, Briana, and Skyla — present, the RHORI cast member cracks jokes about calling her husband “Daddy.”
“When I met Gerry, he told me he had three girls, and they were little,” Liz tells a producer. “I was not prepared to be a mom. School, uniforms, hair, baths, lunches. I go to drive away, they’re like, ‘Ahh! Stop!’ Skyla’s not in the car yet. Skyla’s got one foot in the car.”

As you await the upcoming RHORI premiere, the first-look clip offers a few more details on Liz’s life. “Everyone always says I’m blunt and I bite people’s heads off,” Liz shares. “And I get this a lot lately: I can be ‘scary.'”

One person who might describe Liz as someone who is not easily scared, however, is her castmate and longtime friend Alicia Carmody, who appears first at the top of the clip. Case in point: Alicia appears to be stunned when one of her family members remarks that Liz “has a very big fear of frogs.” She responds, “Liz?! Liz has no fear, to me.”
As Alicia adds in a confessional, “I’ve known Liz since I was born. I remember her being, like, beautiful; she was older than me. But sometimes, Liz makes me nervous. She’s definitely a queen: Queen Elizabeth.”
Regardless, Alicia expresses her “love” for Liz, before describing her and Gerry’s sprawling home as “the most gorgeous castle.”
Professionally, Liz and Garry own a cannabis dispensary. “We were one of the first to open [in the country],” Liz shared in an exclusive interview with The Daily Dish. “I did everything from crack the seeds, to harvest, to learn how to grow in different ways. I designed the whole place.”
Now, Liz and her close friend Dolores Catania have plans to “embark on a new entrepreneurial venture,” by launching a line of gummies for menopausal women.

According to Liz’s bio for Season 1, the “cannabis queen” behind “one of the country’s most successful dispensaries,” is also the person to know in Rhode Island.
“When she and husband Gerry learn they’re about to become grandparents, Liz makes one thing clear — she will not be trading couture for a rocking chair,” her bio teases. “As she prepares for a new chapter in her family life, shifting dynamics within her inner circle test her influence and the bonds she’s long held close.”
