An Idaho man who allegedly killed his pregnant wife and infant son last year appeared virtually in court on Wednesday.
The U.S. Sun reported that Jeremy Best is being represented by Jim Archibald, who represented Lori Vallow last year as she stood trial last year for killing her two children and her husband’s late wife in 2019. Vallow — who is awaiting trial for murdering her husband in Arizona in 2019 — was convicted of the three slayings and sentenced to life in prison without parole.

In November, an AMBER Alert was issued for Best’s 10-month-old son, Zeke Best, after deputies found his wife, Kali Jean Randall, fatally shot inside their Victor home. Kali Jean Randall was reportedly 28 weeks pregnant at the time, and her unborn baby died as a result.
Jeremy Best allegedly kidnapped his son after killing his wife. Days later, police found him, naked and in a sleeping bag, alongside the road near Idaho Falls in Bonneville County. Zeke Best was found dead near his father’s car, which was located down an embankment. An autopsy report indicated that he died from a neck wound.
During Wednesday’s hearing, Jeremy Best pleaded not guilty to three counts of first-degree murder and use of a firearm or other deadly weapon during the commission of a crime. The hearing comes days after he was found fit to stand trial for the three slayings.
It is unclear whether Jeremy Best will face the death penalty. He is due back in court on March 14.
