LOS ANGELES (TCD) —Â A 32-year-old man was found guilty this week of fatally shooting his four young children and his mother-in-law in 2021.
The Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office announced Wednesday, March 13, that a jury convicted Germarcus David of five counts of first-degree murder and three counts of assault on a child causing death in connection with the killings of 51-year-old Ericka England, 11-year-old Namyiah David, 7-year-old Germarcus David Jr., 2-year-old Kayden Davis, and 1-year-old Noah Davis.
He will be sentenced April 24.
On the late evening of Nov. 28, 2021, Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Homicide Bureau detectives responded to a home on the 3500 block of Garnet Lane in Lancaster and found the five victims deceased.
According to KTLA-TV, England was babysitting the four children when they were gunned down and her daughter came home and discovered them dead.
Germarcus David reportedly worked as a security guard and had a license to carry a gun, though it expired over a year before the killings. Detectives told KTLA there were no previous reports of domestic violence or restraining orders against David.
District Attorney George Gascón said in a statement, “We are committed to ensuring that Germarcus David will never harm another cherished grandmother or innocent child again. Our hearts go out to the mother of the children, who has suffered the unimaginable loss of all her children and her own mother in this tragic ordeal.”
