SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. (TCN) — An amorous couple was reportedly caught on surveillance tape having sex outside a Scottsdale restaurant this weekend, then allegedly breaking into the establishment to steal cash, a phone, and a bottle of Bacardi.
The incident took place shortly before 4 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 25, at Mon Chéri, a French-style restaurant known for its romantic atmosphere. Surveillance footage reportedly shows a man and a woman engaging in sexual activity in the restaurant’s outdoor floral display, where patrons often take photos to post on social media. The pair then allegedly broke into the eatery and stole several items.
When employees arrived to open the restaurant next day, they saw that the door had been forced open and supplies were missing.
“When we pulled up the surveillance [footage], we were disturbed and shocked,” one of the employees told Yuma-based KYMA. Staff then spent hours cleaning and sanitizing before reopening for business.
Scottsdale police confirmed the burglary occurred but did not immediately identify the suspects. Meanwhile, the restaurant posted excerpts of the surveillance video on their social media with a tongue-in-cheek request for help in identifying the lovebirds.
The suspects remain at large as of Oct. 28.
