Luke Broderick is sharing some surprising information about Kristen Doute’s engagement ring.
In The Valley After Show video above, Luke and Danny Booko discussed engagement ring shopping and proposing to their respective partners. Oh, and Luke revealed an eye-raising detail about finding the perfect ring for Kristen.
“She knew what she wanted,” he told Danny, “She did show me a picture at one point that she showed Carter years before.”
Yes, that Carter, as in ex-boyfriend Brian Carter, who longtime fans may remember from his appearances on Vanderpump Rules.
With a laugh, Luke explained, “It’s not the exact same one. She told me, ‘I used to have a big board,’ or whatever, so ‘Let me see if I can find a picture of something I sent at some point.'”
Ultimately, Kristen did find a few of her previous ring ideas, and showed them to Luke — who took careful notes.

Luke explained to Danny on The Valley After Show that he and Kristen agreed that a ring is more about what it represents than just being a sparkly and expensive accessory, so she capped how much he should spend on it.
Or, as Luke said during a confessional interview on The Valley, Kristen would “chop [his] balls off” if he went over a budget of $10,000.
But as viewers saw when Luke and Danny went ring shopping at Kyle Chan’s on The Valley, Kristen’s engagement ring is definitely more rock than pebble.
“You know what Kristen likes,” Luke said to Kyle, “We’ve talked about it!” The jeweler didn’t hesitate to pull options out of a showcase, and gently reminded Kristen’s beau that she prefers an emerald cut.
Luke and Danny agreed that the piece he ultimately selected was “gorgeous” and “a statement.”
Even if that statement implies, as Luke joked, “I want to look like I have more money than I do.”
Kyle added in a September 6 Instagram post that the ring Luke commissioned for Kristen includes a 14K white gold band and an elongated 4.27-carat emerald-cut diamond, with further white diamonds on the band and halo setting.
