TRENTON, N.J. (TCD) — A homeless man was arrested in New Jersey over the weekend following a “murderous rampage” in Pennsylvania that left three people dead, including his teenage sister.
According to the Bucks County District Attorney’s Office, on Saturday, March 16, at 8:52 a.m., Falls Township Police responded to a shooting call at an apartment on Viewpoint Lane in Levittown, Pennsylvania. Police allege 26-year-old Andre Gordon carjacked someone in Trenton, New Jersey, drove to the residence on Viewpoint Lane, and fatally shot his 51-year-old stepmother, Karen Gordon, and 13-year-old sister, Kera Gordon.
Three others were reportedly inside the home at the time of the shooting and managed to hide safely.
Minutes later, at 9:01 a.m., Gordon allegedly drove to a second residence, where he fatally shot the mother of his two children, Taylor Daniel. The district attorney’s office said four people were present for that incident, and Gordon allegedly “bludgeoned” one woman with the assault rifle he used in the shooting. She was transported to a local hospital for her injuries.
NJ.com reports Falls Township Police Chief Nelson Whitney said Gordon allegedly used an “AR-15 style assault rifle” in the shooting.
Gordon left the scene, and at 9:15 a.m., he allegedly carjacked a man at gunpoint. Falls Township Police implemented a shelter in place order and lifted it after three hours. Police located the stolen car in Trenton, New Jersey, at 11:38 a.m.
Police learned Gordon locked himself in a home in Trenton and was holding people hostage. He was arrested hours later about five blocks away and had “altered his appearance, in an attempt to conceal his identity, by cutting his hair prior to his apprehension.”
The New Jersey Attorney General’s Office said in a statement that Gordon was being charged with first-degree carjacking, second-degree possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, second-degree unlawful possession of an assault firearm, third-degree unlawful possession of a firearm without a serial number, third-degree receiving stolen property, fourth-degree unlawful possession of large-capacity ammunition magazines, and fourth-degree possession of hollow-point ammunition.
In Pennsylvania, Gordon faces 32 charges, including three counts of first-degree murder, three counts of second-degree murder, burglary, aggravated assault, robbery of a motor vehicle, unlawful restraint, discharging a firearm into an occupied structure, theft by unlawful taking, possession of an instrument of crime, terroristic threats, simple assault, and recklessly endangering another person.
He will be extradited back to Pennsylvania.
Falls Township and Trenton are about seven miles away from each other.
